1980 NLCS...Phillies were down in both Games 4 and 5. In Game 5 they were down 5-2 to Nolan Ryan and scored 5 in the 8th only to blow the lead but win in the 10th.
@andrewhemsley75008 жыл бұрын
If you make a part 4, you should add older footage like the 1968 Detroit Tigers 🐯 coming back down 3-1 in the World Series and the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates accomplishing the same feat. Also, you should make a video of regular season collapses like: 1951 Dodgers (the shot heard 'round the world) 1964 Phillies Phold 1969 Cubs (the black cat) 1978 Red Sox (Bucky Bleeping Dent) 1995 Angels 👼 2007 & 2008 Mets 2009 Tigers (losing a 3 game lead w/ 4 games left to play) & the 2011 Red Sox & Braves

If the Cubs had lost game 7, their collapse would have been right up there, as they had a 5-1 lead in the top of the 5th and let 2 runs score on a wild pitch. They had a 6-3 lead in the eighth with 2 outs and nobody on and gave up 3 runs in that inning. I honestly thought the Cubs were going to blow it in the bottom of the tenth when, with 2 outs, the Cubs pitcher couldn't throw a strike and gave up a walk and a run. Heck when the last out was recorded, Bryant slipped. Had the slip caused the game to continue, who knows what would have happened. Even when the Cubs win, they can't do it without giving their fans a heart attack.

It was the one time they didn't collapse AND lose in the end. For once, the team pulled through in their darkest hour.

Nathaniel Levesque yeah but they let a few runs go through. The Indians lost 3 games in a row.

Colonel_Shrek I'm saying if the Cubs had lost game 7, they would have collapsed.
@nathaniellevesque27828 жыл бұрын
***** I would say blowing a 3 run lead with 2 outs and no one on in the 8th inning would normally constitute a collapse. The only reason it's not a collapse in this case, is because the Cubs won. Had they lost, it would have been a collapse. And no I'm not autistic thank you very much.

Not really a "Lucky hit". Zobrist was looking for a pitch in that location. Watch his interview and you will see that it wasn't "Lucky". He knows what he wants. He went 10/28 with 3 walks.

Even his teams before that series choked. His Giants teams blew a huge division lead in 93, lost 2 LDS games in the bottom of the 9th in 97, lost 3 hard fought LDS games in 2000, and blew a 3-2 series lead and a 5-0 game 6 lead in the 2002 world series. The victory in the 2003 NLDS was his only postseason hurrah.

2010 that's sooo long.I mean it's not like the last time the cub's won the world series was in 1908 or anything.Really the team who's actually "taken it up the ass" has to be the cubbbies. 5 years compared to 108 years is all i'm leaving this at.It's our time now.

Now that the Cubs have won the World Series, they should invite Steve Bartman to throw a ceremonial double play ball to Alex Gonzalez.
@digitalutopia18 жыл бұрын
By all accounts, Steve Bartman just wants to be left the hell alone. The best thing everybody can do, when mentioning that game, is to put the blame on the target(s) that who were actually at fault. Gonzo to an extent, but mostly on Baker for going from not managing at all, to overmanaging. I mean, seriously - how do you bring in a reliever just to intentionally walk the first batter he faces, loading the bases - and having him do the same thing again after getting a first-pitch sac fly out? And that's not even mentioning him leaving Prior out there to twist in the wind.

The Indians did not choke in the 2016 Series. Both teams committed equally costly errors. The Cubs were simply the best team in baseball.
@digitalutopia18 жыл бұрын
To be fair to the Indians, they were dealing with injuries - requiring Francona to lean heavily on Kluber and Miller. Cubs bullpen was just different shades of horrible (except for a few pitchers) throughout the entire postseason.

If anyone chokes in that series it was the cubs so many mistakes including allowing 3 runs with 2 outs and no one on in the eighth and almost lost that game also they lost two straight at Wrigley this year a NL Central tiebreaker (they had a lead on them all most of the season) and the Wild Card game to the Rockies the Indians don’t choke they are just outdueld by different teams in big games
