Guys, just an observation from afar…. The east side of Mexico does not seem safe for vehicular travel. Perhaps even all of Mexico. Especially if one does not have a real grasp of the language… travel there seems hazardous at present.

Not hazardous at all. Don’t go down the rabbit hole of misinformation. Like any travel anywhere, be alert. So many USA cities are far more dangerous than mexico or gun violence. Did the east coast, mostly away from toll roads. No problems.

Logistically: let’s finish the Pan American First. My OCD requires that. If any country won’t allow Lando I’d skip that country and keep Lando with you. He’s part of the family and should be with you on all your journeys.

My hope would be that you don't leave Lando behind. We love how he interacts with the family and gets so much 'life' out of your adventures. Especially if you are going to be gone for multiple years. He's an integral part of the adventures, not to mention the family. I know he would be missed by all who follow your adventures. ❤

I just live in the backwoods Alabama, I know I'll never get a chance to visit the places that you guys do. But I have come to grow to love your dog and I'm not a big dog fan but I have watch this dog and almost every video that you have created and that dog has been almost everywhere that you have been and while I'm watching your videos I think to myself my God that dog is living the dream. Your dog is getting a chance to see things other dogs will never ever get to go to or visit. That would be a shame if you're not able to take the dog in some areas that you want to travel. And like I said I'm not a real big dog fan but I have really enjoyed watching your dog run ahead of that jeep and enjoy life to the fullest.

Trip planning is always fun. Not as much fun as the trip but close. I have just completed a ten thousand kilometre trip across Australia. Absolutely had the best time. And even as I’m cleaning up after this trip I’m planning the nest. Then next trip takes in Birdsville, Inaminka and Cameron Corner in a giant loop from Melbourne. It’s fun doing the planning but I’m so looking forward to this trip. Good luck and God’s blessings on yours

Hey Family, Firstly a very Belated Happy Birthday to Pete 🎉 I’m doing abit of a catch up on videos I’ve not seen. Can’t believe how quickly time has flown for winter season, now that spring is coming… Your first full winter expedition at your cabin - would be great to hear your overall thoughts about your time? You’ve got some absolutely fantastic overlanding adventures coming up. Woohoo can’t believe your planning an African Adventure soooo epic. You’re right - logistics will be crucial especially as you’re thinking of taking your gear and vehicles. As to your route - my opinion is start Southern Hemisphere in Africa maybe starting from beautiful Cape Town. I’ve got a great friend who did a huge overlanding trip in his Jeep from CT all the way across African continent through to the Middle East and then across Europe too so will have a chat with him about what great tips he can share. I’ve done some overlanding in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Malawi, up towards Kenya, Madagascar, Morocco but that was wayyy back in the 80’s/90’s and again more recently 2019 before CoVID - Africa is sublime for overlanding especially the wildlife! You’ve got give yourselves a good amount of time for Africa because there’s just sooo much to take in. I’d suggest too tapping into the Overlanding/ 4x4 in Africa forums - there’s plenary information shared especially crucial information around troubled areas etc.

I know this part is pretty far off but I spent some time in central Africa and cannot recommend Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia area enough. Just some of the most hospitable people I’ve ever met and some beautiful country. Africa really is one of the last frontiers. The wild of it is just astonishing. I had always pictured completing a panamerica trip and ending in Ushuaia then boating to South Africa and continuing on back up to Europe and home, myself. I hope to be able to do that one day. But I think it’s a good path. Central/South America is still a pretty good break in period if you have issues you can still access resources fairly easy, albeit sometimes costly. Which will ease you in and prepare you for Africa which is just wayyyy off grid and wild. I think the America’s give you time to sort things out and see what works before you’re really OUT THERE. Just my two cents. Hell, I don’t even know if this comment will get read but hey, I love the show and thank you guys for the content. Cannot WAIT to see how the next couple seasons go.

so happy to see you save the red chairs since we all feel something special about them after seeing Carol paint them. They are good representative of your life at the cabin. Well, you gave us the episode we've been waiting all winter to see, which is sharing the travel plans! Thank you so much and also thanks for asking for opinions and thoughts as I've always got those 🙂 I like the idea of you heading north then across to Europe. I am more interested in seeing you explore where I myself would like to go, so for me Europe would be the most interesting thing to watch you visit. Being of Dutch descent I imagine you will spend time researching your roots when you pass through, this is very interesting to my husband and myself because hubby is of Dutch descent. We will enjoy that very much. Also, just a reflectional thought on the end of a very long trip we think you'll be eager to get home and putting your pedal to the metal by then. We'd rather see you rush through the US than Europe because we've seen you travel the US for several years already. Not that we dont enjoy seeing you travel the US, we always do! but we dont want you to rush through Europe at all, because that will be the time we'll be the most interested in the episodes. Of course, we will watch you regardless of the direction you travel. It turns out we dont watch where you are as much as we watch because of who you are. Thanks for asking our opinions ;-)
