If you take the battery out first off, the pod remains, and you can salvage it in place. There's a proximity sensor somewhere which activates that launch sequence.

Been watching you for years man. So glad to see this reprise. I enjoy space engineers, but um currently playing satisfactory atm. Good to be able to still get a decent fix of the game through your content again though

FYI if you access survival kit with K then you can switch to inventory, and retrieve items.

A great way to attach "external" panels and windows to structures is using the little neon tube corners. They're small, pretty unobtrusive when set to a dark gray or black, and it allows you to have multiple points of attachment rather than having one keystone piece that can ruin your whole ship if it breaks. The neon tube corners are also great for attaching corner lights in places they can't normally be placed facing the way you want.

That wreck is the "section-f" random encounter. It a chunk based off a really old space station that used to be in the game. You can still see picture of it every once in a while on the main loading screen for the game. The escape pod can be disabled by grinding down the timer blocks on the side opposite of the gatling gun.

Looking at the outside of the ship it reminded me of the original landing ship. I mean it was atmospheric not hydrogen, but the overall shape and the location of the windowed part just reminded me of it.

Turning off reversing thrusters the way you do is the right way to "Coast" in atmospheres, in space however, you just need to turn off dampeners by pressing Z. I always enjoy your videos, I have been watching since your Medieval Engineers series.

Why not disable the dampers, instead of setting up a "brake toggle" button on the hotbar?

This way, you keep the directional control online, less chance of accidents.
