I tried the gold glory and loved it, but then I fell in love with the color and the enhancements of it. I've had this guitar for 4 months and I play it almost every day, it's my blues girl🎸🥰

I had a chance to recently try this one out. What I loved? The 50s wiring. Gives so much more versatility to the tone you can get out of your guitar. The weight of the model I tried was really good, no back aches expected. What didn't thrill me? Typical Epiphone scratchy frets that make slides and bends feel like the guitar is fighting you. And I've seen this on all Epiphones in recent years, from the entry models to the Korina Explorers and Vs. Some person in the Chinese factory getting paid $2 an hour and Gibson thinks it's not worth it if these people spend 20min polishing the frets. They're not gonna do it for $0.66 and are passing the cost onto you to a luthier who will ask for $150 minimum to do it. So how many people buying ANY Epiphone will do it?

John you didn't mention the "stinger" on the back of the headstock!

Fantastic job showing what this guitar can do. It’s obviously beautiful, but you really showed what it can do. I’m in love with the big muff sound you got out of it.

It's the P90 on this guitar just a stacked humbucker? To keep it quiet?
@fernandosilva62957 ай бұрын
not exactly, the extra coils connected to the p90 do not pick the sound from your strings, but the sound from the environment, hence the hum cancelling effect, they work like dummy coils in that sense. That changes the tone in comparison to an original P90, but as seen in this video it still sounds like a P90, maybe 90% of the way there EDIT: been thinking of my explanation lately and it's not very correct, the two extra coils DO pickup the sound of your strings, but they are either wired out of phase with each other, reverse wound or physically flipped (most likely a combination of these) this way both pickups pick the hum+strings but when the signals are added they cancel each other's string sound (this is were the 10% difference lives, since the sound picked from the strings is not the same because they are physically located in different spaces, but they are close enough that the cancelling is almost perfect) but leave the hum, THEN this string-less signal gets mixed with the P90 in an out of phase way so humbucking is achieved but only the P90 catches the sound from the strings

@@fernandosilva6295 THe 10% that's missing is the hum. "Real" P90's hum like a hot night under a porch light in the wet tropics.

I can tell you this. Epiphone is very consistent. I have the gold version, and it sounds super identical to yours.

I would like to know if the headstock is MOP or Pearoid?

how different is the neck from the LP 50s/slash neck?

The wrap around bridge ruins this guitar for me. If it did not have that, I would already own one.

They make Les Paul customs with Tom bridges and p90s, so you’re in luck.
