Hello! I'm from Portugal, and it was interesting to see a lovely Portuguese yarn in your episode! That yarn is from Rosa Pomar, and she has a store in Lisbon and the name of the store is ' ervilha cor de rosa' . Thanks for the episodes, stay well

Just discovering this episode from years ago. The Art Deco chrome chair in the background has a home with me should you ever tire of it. I'm binging on the early episodes. They all have that same "Selma" charm. Brava!

Hi, Selma! I really needed to see and hear what you had to say about your colorwork knitting, because I too have this "angst" right now while knitting my Fern and Feather sweater. Your pullover is fantastic!
@littlebigknits7 жыл бұрын
heyBrownBerry my floats would usually end up far too loose which is an easier problem than having to constantly loosen them but I do hope that with time I will find a way to make them just right!! In the meantime there is some stress!! And it turned out just fine!! Yours is looking so beautiful!! I can’t wait to see it! I really wish I were going to eyf this year!!

I was just rewatching this episode (LOVE your items), and an idea hit me about your moon hat, if you're interested. Try running two strands (side by side) all the way around in three or four places of the elastic. It's thin enough to be pretty invisible, you can control how snug to make it, and you'll be able to wear the hat when it's windy. Voila!
@littlebigknits6 жыл бұрын
Maria Papagiannidi thank you so much!! I cannot believe you are watching a second time! 😍😍

Little Big Knits I really enjoy your podcasts. I just noticed that in editing my original comment, I deleted the part about WHAT you should thread through the ribbing. It is, of course, elastic thread, which is thin enough to blend in and be comfortable. Such a pain trying to type on the i-pad!

Maria Papagiannidi I got it!! No worries!!

So cool to find your podcast with the branches and buds sweater. I wrote to you on ravelry about your blend no 1 leftovers, but I see you might have plans for them 🙁. I'm looking for more of this yarn but don't want to take away the pleasure of knitting with it, so I'm only looking for leftovers, in any case no one seems to want to part with their full skeins 😂

I love your sweater! I think I'll have to make it next year.... Also I totally understand your hesitation when it comes to cables. I love love love the look of cables but find them a little fiddly and slow so I've been trying to make more lace-y patterns. I think most of the time when I pick up my knitting I want to be able to just zoom through and since I can't do that with cables it just doesn't feel the same to knit on.

First time watching- loved your podcast and thought your sweater was beautiful. Wish I was more confident at knitting because I would love to knit this sweater
@littlebigknits7 жыл бұрын
sweater knitting doesn't have to be hard. If you haven't knit one yet, there are some great patterns to start with and I am happy to help you choose. The only slightly hard bit about this one was the colourwork but "hard" is relative because it really isn't that difficult but I totally understand that it can be intimidating! I had to take a bit of a breath and get on with it! Thank you so much for watching!!

Another great podcast Selma, thank you. I totally adore your jumper, it is truly beautiful and those specks of colour, my oh my! Shame I am a very new knitter and I can't quite contemplate knitting a jumper yet as I would be all over that one! I have knit so far a crescent shawl and a scarf for Christmas and one sock! Second sock on hold until I finish a few Christmas crochet gifts. You have been very busy with FOs and WIPs! Are you a fast knitter? As I'm holding the yarn with my left hand when I crochet it made sense to do the same with knitting but I can't quite move the finger over for a purl, I think I need a needle with a hook at the end to grab the yarn! That makes sense to me!! I wish you a lovely Christmas, hope you won't miss hubby and kiddies too much.
@littlebigknits7 жыл бұрын
I think I probably spend too much time knitting!! I would say I am somewhat fast but really I think it is more about the time I spend doing it. It sounds like you are knitting continental style. There are many videos that could help you to make sure your style works for you. I do find I purl a lot more slowly than I do knit. Keep on working at it and then you can choose a simple sweater to start with if you like. It really isn't that hard to knit a simple garment if you so desire. Always happy to help if you need it. thank you for your lovely comments!! Happy holidays to you too!

Oh my gosh it took me forever to get through your podcast :) I kept pausing to go look at wool and pattern suggestions lol. I knit hubby an alpaca blend hat that also grew, but solved the problem by throwing it in the washer and dryer....of course monitoring it and it’s perfect now! Did you know Dale also has tukuwool from Finland :) I am so fascinated with it due to me being 1/4 Fin :) Thanks for all the wonderful inspiration (we seem to have the same tastes) and enabling!

Hi, that is very attractive sweater it looks good in you sis. I just happened upon you, but I have a question about sweaters;. Top down, I'm a size 22 plus size. I want to knit my sweater and skirt sets for myself. Can you suggest a yoke down and type of yarn for me please.
@littlebigknits7 жыл бұрын
Marilyn Kolako designers are far more sensitive today to different sizes so you will find designers today who have great designs for many sizes. Probably one of the first to include a broad range was ysolda Teague. There is also Joji locatelli and isabell kraemer who have very practical and popular designs and include many sizes. Check them out. As for skirts it is more difficult to say. I actually am thinking about talking about the process of making a skirt in an upcoming episode because I think you can practically make one without a pattern depending on what you are going for. Hope that helps to start with!! 🤗
