I'll never forget a line spoken from an American comedian I loved years ago named Rita Rudner. Her skit was all about Beverley Hills. She walked into a dress shop and the shop assistant said (imagine using a snooty voice) "do you have an appointment?" Rita asks, "why? Do the dresses have something else to do today?" lol. On my honeymoon years ago we were in Cairns, Queensland Australia and I had a similar experience going into a very expensive clothing shop. The shop assistant followed me everywhere thinking that I was going to steal something! They had no idea we were staying in one of the most expensive rooms in the Hilton Hotel ha ha. Gooch here. I know exactly who Rita Rudner is! Years ago I was selling Grand Canyon tours on the Las Vegas strip. Rita and her hubby would walk past my booth on their way and back from either the Flamingo or Harrahs for her shows every night. She always looked flawless! She is a funny lady for sure. We were vacationing going state to state. So my husband says do you want to go shopping on rodeo drive, we had our 2 kids with us. Now they didn't know we were traveling but I went into 2 different stores, ( ooo nooo I wasn't dressed for success) no one waited on me, just kept giving me looks like ugh you don't belong here. So we walked out. The next store at least they said hi.. but sorry, lol there clothes and perfumes are just too much... now I'm going back 32 years or so, and a cotton sundress for 600.00 ?? They are out of there ever loving mind lolol.

Great show! I've also been to France and in my opinion, it's AMERICANS who are impatient (may come off as rude?) with the European, relaxed way. I learned quickly that if we, Americans, just slowed down, enjoyed the moment (shopping, a meal, a drink), everyone is more patient with one another. I also felt that making an effort to speak French made a difference. In my case, my French is so horrible that 95% of the time, the person I was communicating with, ended up speaking to me in English. 😄
