Love watching your videos as I am restoring a 3.8 MKII on my channel (jagvette1) but C'Mon there are NO millimeter nuts bolts etc on a Jaguar of the 60's they have proper sizes in fractions. in the northern part of England they can't pronounce castle either they also say kassall. Too late now but when I did my front discs I used and impact gun and on the inside place a screwdriver blade between the nut head and the disc. You can't have too much grease $20 is a lot cheaper than new bearings seals and a stub axle. The washers you are talking about are shims to centralize the brake caliper on the disc, kind of important 🧐😉😉

Really good video with good lighting and positioning. I suggest new pads with new disc is imperative as the (new) old pads will have worn to the old disc surface. Also important is to replace shims correctly. The large bolt should be torqued up then use a feeler gauge to check shim size under the small bolt arm location. If you don’t get that right, you chance fracturing the steering arm bracket either when you torque up the small bolt or worse, when you hit a pot hole.

@Mechautoinsight thanks! You are correct and I always change the pads as a matter of course, but the ones in there literally look almost brand new. When I get to drive the car next week, I will see what it's like.

@Mechautoinsight ah - many thanks! I was going to do some.more research into that cps figured there must be a reason for them.....no other car in the universe has such a system - only the English could have thought of it!
