Alison is the best. I wish she would write a book about Dante. Shakespeare got the Romeo and Giuliet story from Dante. Imo Henry didn't think it through. The German countries had a different culture from England, France and Spain.

So was Henry actually claiming that Anne had given birth? Not just that she wasn't a virgin? Because losing her virginity would not affect her figure in any way unless she became pregnant.

Some women do. I did. Hormones intensify when you're sexually active. I had a more womanly and less athletic figure. I was 95 pounds prior. Lol then went up to around 115 after my marriage. However, Henry wouldn't know that. As he never met her previously.

@@ashleyleonard8148 The problem was that Henry had once been married Anne Boleyn , n the most fashionable, sophisticated woman at court. Anne Cleves had no sense of style, ability to play cards, talent for music, or make interesting conversation. He probably considered it a comedown to be married to a woman without glamor or wit.

No he didn't believe that. He thought that women who had big breasts and a loose belly couldn't be virgins.....at least that was his excuse for not consummating the marriage. But I think it was a plan to have the marriage annulled - non consummation being one of the grounds for annulment. A husbands impotence could also be grounds for annulment as it was every married persons had the right to have children.....so infertility could also be grounds for annulment.
