This lady right here is simply put AMAZING!!!! I love stopping by and remembering the ones who helped me get to where I'm at now in life. Where exactly am I at in life, I'm an independent women who finds her strength and hope in the one who created me, and of all the people that I choose to let have a space in my life now, he is number one, and I am exactly who he says I am. @carolynmcallister1496
@carolynmcallister1496 3 жыл бұрын
Test-taking can be extremely difficult for people who have anxiety issues. First, remember this: a bit of anxiety before a test is actually a good thing; it is your brain telling you that it is ready. Secondly: Some people suffer from such intense anxiety that it is paralyzing. If anxiety has this effect on you, practice deep breathing. During the exam, inhale slowly through your nose (slowly count to five) and then exhale slowly (counting to five again) through your mouth. Do this 3 times, and you should begin to feel more calm. I wish you the best!

I have the Mometrix ATI TEAS secrets and it also lists "Technical Passage" just thought everyone should know that might be on there as well. Says "Technical writing is common in medical and technological fields, in which complex ideas such as mathematics, science, and engineering". So if I get something with those topics I'm assuming the answer is a "Technical Passage".

Expository example is a textbook it’s all factual. The purpose of this is to inform and is found in the encyclopedia. Persuasive..look for opinion words. Purpose is it persuade. Narrative a person story. Look for personal pronouns. I they we now…look for quotations. The purpose is to entertain.

What about a passage that is expository because it is the history or background of a person, would you think it would be found in an encyclopedia or bibliography
@carolynmcallister1496
@carolynmcallister1496 2 жыл бұрын
That's tricky because it actually could be either. However, I think encyclopedia would be the best answer, and then the purpose would be 'to inform.'

What about a manual instruction? There are bunch of numbers in the instruction to show people that how to install a piece of furniture. I think it should be a technical passage instead of expository.

I highly recommend that you NEVER choose technical on the TEAS. :)

I think the policy varies from schools to schools, but typically students are required to retake the entire test. What was your Science score? What was your Total Score?

while was taking a practice exam on memotrix today I had a question like this. i looked at the page and saw percentage so i picked expasitory but my answer was wrong. it says that correct answer is technical!
@carolynmcallister1496
@carolynmcallister1496 Жыл бұрын
That's because it was a practice test. On the actual test, the correct answer would have been expository. Trust me on this!

What if one of the responses on passage is 1. Persuasive 2. Expository 3. Entertainment 4. Narrative?
@carolynmcallister1496

Depends on the passage; however, it will not be Persuasive or Entertainment.

What about technical passages? Could a letter be a technical passage? Any other examples?
@carolynmcallister1496
@carolynmcallister1496 5 жыл бұрын
If you think a passage might be technical, I recommend that you select expository. Usually, a letter on the TEAS would be considered a primary source.

Technical writing will never be the correct answer on the TEAS. If you think it is technical, then select expository. Good luck!!

Hello and thank you for this info 😊 may I ask if I am reading the questions first in a passage , how would I find the main idea and topic ? I am not sure how to find those thank you . It has been years since I have been in school lol
@carolynmcallister1496
@carolynmcallister1496 3 жыл бұрын
I recommend reading the question first so that you will know what to look for. Many students will read the entire passages first, and then by the time they read the question, they have forgotten what they read in the passage. It is not always necessary to read the entire passages. Good luck!
