Surprised they do direct entry as civilians into SOG. usually in a lot of other tactical police units around the world, you have to have served a number of years as a standard police unit before being eligible to go onto the more specialist firearms police units. In Israel...the YAMAM....in the UK the CTSFOs.....all have to have experience prior to trying out for selection for these elite police units. However, I've seen the Australian Commandos (although military) now doing direct entry for civilians. As long as they meet the physical and mental standards then there shouldn't be any reason why direct entry would be an issue.

Direct intake to the unit or when once apply you get it, they'll put you for attachment training with GRF only then you can transfer to specialist unit? Because I see SPF open up two units for direct recruitment PTU and SOG. Seems good to be true😅

​@@givemilk1520bro is spitting nonsense.Special Tactics aNd Rescue(STAR), Special Task Squadron(STS) and Gurkha special action Group(GSAG) are the 3 tactical Teams of the SPF to provide the highest level of response.But recently Special operations group (SOG) is being formed by recruiting officers from All departments and Special tactics team to create a line of officers who are the elite of the elite for operations in all fields.Unlike when STS was the tactic team on Sea while STAR and GSAG was on land .Forming the SOG will allow the officers to learn from each other as they come from different departmens.
