I'm running my first ever marathon in 3 weeks and I just got home from my 23 mile workout. I'm on pace to do a 3:40 marathon. I'm so stoked about this! I've done all my prep alone because no one in my life does this kind of stuff. Thank you for being here for me and motivating me to complete this race!

age is just a number dude. you can still pr your marathon when you are in your 40s. It is all about staying consistent and healthy.

I mean...its not. You aren't running olympic trials time at 55 years old. But yes, Eric has many more years he can improve, marathon and ultra running can peak well into the 40s for some people

So true. The only limitation is your mind and keeping up with mobility.

This video is soooo Nick and it’s such a tragedy. Eric, on his one channel, publishes awesome videos. They’re self-indulgent but it balances with his modesty, humbleness and self-reflection. Here he sounds like Nick: self-indulgent and pretentious; someone who takes himself waaaay too seriously. Look, there’s no question that guys like Nick and Eric do hard work. But so do we, the rest. I’d even go as far as to say that ours is a bit more difficult given these hobbies, self-goals don’t pay us and are only motivated by sheer will as we balance these against our paying jobs, families etc. I am sure the wars I fight to include my training in my schedule could be an easier task if I were paid to do it and a team working around/on me. But, anyways, regardless, I don’t give in to such indulgence. I just do. It doesn’t make me better than anyone else. They’re fighting their own wars. However with Nick and his influence this becomes the end all be all. The pretentious standard. That’s BS. And it’s boring. Eric, be as you are. Please don’t become Nick.

I have been here since 3:05 unofficial marathon attempt. Your journey and channel have been inspiring, but I have to say its a bit odd given your progression through the years, to hear this doubt and limits on your performance. Before the half marathon, you talked about that might have hit the ceiling of your fitness. Maybe it gets click, views (there is nothing wrong with that), but its a bit strange to hear it. At the age of 33, you only have so much time left...I dont think you were a professional with tons of miles in your legs, that wear and tear. You have time and with your dedication, I have no doubt that you can go under 2:20 in the future. I dont want this to be a negative comment, I just wanted to point this out. Be about it, dont doubt it.
