iPhone 6s Rose Gold: Unboxing & First Impressions

So, I was at the Apple Store bright and early. I got myself a Rose Gold iPhone 6s and I LOVE the color. Here are some initial thoughts. Hold tight for the full review!

On first setup screen did the very top status area seem darker/dim to you? I almost swapped my iPhone 6S on launch day at the AT&T store due to that. I would had ended up getting gold instead of silver 64GB which I would had been fine, but they pulled out a gold one opened it up turned it on the screen had that same dark/dim look at the top of the screen. So I kept my silver, But is this normal for the 6S? The dim is not there on the 6S+ and is not there on the regular 6. Which I've only seen 2 6S so far mine and that other gold one which both screens looked the same. Also compared to the 6 does your home button feel less clicky? as it feels when you leave the protective film over it? Either its just because its new or I'm being OCD about that? haha.

Peoples, OIS is used only for photos on the iPhone 6 Plus. Apple did not use OIS in video. Instead they used DIS algorithm "Cinematic Stabilization" the same on the iPhone 6. It is only now that Apple is integrating OIS into video on the 6s Plus. I had a very good Apple contact reveal this to me.

It's so disappointing to see Apple downgrading the battery for the sake of slimness. Apple's battery life is so awesome. If they just made the phones slightly thicker for a larger battery, they would have some impressive numbers. And the rumor is that the 7 will be even thinner.

If your interested and live in US/Canada...must have case! I got it! :)

To me, the iPhone is like Beats headsets. They are good, but just not good enough to justify the cost. My parents LOVE their iPhones. To them, its super simple and easy to use. But for me, Android just offers so much more, esp when it comes to different designs and customization. But, you can't deny the popularity of the phones. No, I agree with you. It really is more pinkish than anything else. Not truly what "rose gold" is meant to look like -- Rolex for example I believe has rose gold as a dial (face) option for men's watches and it's darker in hue. Perhaps not something every guy would go for, but it's interesting/different and not feminine.

The new iPhone 6S may look the same as the regular 6, but it is completely upgraded under the hood. For non-power user only doing basic day to day tasks you probably won't notice a lot of difference beyond the much improved front facing camera. On the other hand, power users who push the full capabilities of their phone for things like video editing in iMovie will more likely notice and benefit from the improved processing and memory specs of this phone. Also users who want best possible gaming performance and eye candy may also want to consider an upgrade.

Was just curious, your comment on the phone not offering as much as other phones in the market, what features were you specifically looking for in a phone that you didn't get? Also, of the features that you didn't get on the iPhone, what phone would instead recommend that does offer those features? I'm in the market for a new phone myself, I have an old iPhone 4 so literally anything would be an upgrade. As an aside, I do have a Galaxy S Tab 10.5, so phablets are not exactly up my alley as it would be rather redundant!
