Dear Mr. Arceneaux. I'm recommending all my students to your course of study. Yours is the clearest, most effective, and accurate set of exercises I have seen online. I teach master classes in many universities and here in New York and my students are always looking for good resources. You have put together an accessible, efficacious course of study for singers of all levels. Bravo.

Good day sir... I was hit on my neck... And after that incident, my voice becomes rough and can't those notes I do normally hit before and each time I try singing high or low low, a kind of lump sensation will appear in my throat and I will get a contraction stopping me from singing high and I get easily cracked because of this incident... My real texture has been lost... What has happened to my vocal cords and will I ever recover sir, is being 3months this incident happened sir... I need a reply from you and recommendation sir...

Quick summary for anyone who needs it, hope it helps! - Do it every day (everything) - Good for all genres 1. Yawning (relax and open up the throat) 2. Gentle cough (feel the abdominal, sides, chest, and back muscles) --- Light gentle lip rolls --- 3. Light gentle lip rolls, like sigh-ing (throat stay relaxed and let the body work) 3.1. Similar to 3 but do it while shaking your head from side to side (like you're saying no) 4. Continue to shake your head from side to side but go from high to low note 5. Lip roll from low to high notes (tip: tense or lift up shoulders and lip roll while you relax) 6. Gently bent knees down (like squatting) as you lip roll from low to high note (body goes down, voice goes up) 7. Similar to 6's motion but high to low notes (voice goes down with your body)

The one thing I have learnt from my own experience is that anyone and everyone can sing.Just one important thing is that everyone has their own range, until an unless you do not cross the range you can do wonders. One thing I have been struggling with even after getting better is the confidence of telling others that I am capable of singing. So I advice u to sing alone with yourself but sing with a group of people (your friends I would recommend). This is important cause if you are good at something it is essential for you to communicate it and sometimes confidence is an essential part cause without confidence in your voice and in yourself the worst may come out of you. I hope you enjoy your journey of being a badass singer and don’t give up 👍👍👍

To anyone watching wondering if these work, I've been watching Eric's videos for a few years and JUST doing these warm-ups improved my voice by the end. I'm not joking! I sang a song before I did these and sang the same one after and my tone was much clearer, my high notes were less strained, and I started to deliver vibrato consistently!! My sister laughed the whole video till I sang at the end and her jaw dropped, she wasn't laughing anymore. I literally do these once every few months but still continue to improve so if I did these daily I'd be set! IT IS THE BEST, THIS IS WORTH PRACTICING!!

Progress Report: I've been practicing all these tips for about a 7-9 days. Finally I cracked myself up thinking, here I am, another one of hundreds of thousands of viewers making silly sounding lip rolls and other funny stuff. But they say laughing is good for you, and given my vocally challenged situation, I couldn't possibly get any worse. After only a week of daily effort, and feeling I was making some progress, I went back to the studio and laid down the same track I'd recorded prior to starting the exercises. I was shocked to find that while I had more confidence, my sound sucked even more than it did before. I was louder and steadier, but no "better". Still I persisted, and two days later I remembered another tip from another one of Eric's videos, which was to try to let your "talking voice" come through. It's not like I didn't know that already, but what's cool about Eric's tutorials is that he reminds you of the fundamentals. When I worked my talking voice into the mix, suddenly things started coming together. Also, don't be fooled by the seeming ridiculousness of the exercises. What I found is that it's not the "lip roll" or whatever the exercise is that is the point. The point is focusing on what is taking place within your physical system when you are doing the exercise, e.g. the rate and steadiness of the airflow required to maintain the exercise; whether or not the tension of certain muscles is necessary to achieve the same effect, and separating what is happening with your vocal chords from the rest of your body. Singing is something that I assumed should be as natural as talking, and while that's partly true, there's a lot more going on than we think, and exploring that is what Eric's tutorials will help you do. I realize that real progress is going to take me longer than a week or two. But in only 9 days, I have a new appreciation for the way my body works when using it as a musical instrument. It has given me a basic palette from which to find the right colors ( if that makes any sense ). Before this it was all accident combined with a lot of trial and error.
@Dhruv-qw7jf4 жыл бұрын
Hey, I'm assuming by the talking voice, he means the chest voice (that's the general terminology, at least), but I've got a problem. I can't tap into my chest voice. It's weird. I don't why, I think I got a cold a few years back and haven't been able to speak in my chest voice since then (or at least, doesn't have a very good control over it).
@shriharir64504 жыл бұрын
@@Dhruv-qw7jf actually.. Singing in your talking voice means two things.. 1) Opening the vowels nd pronouncing consonants in the same way as speaking when you sing. 2)Chest voice as you said.

@J Randall Murphy ..nd this needs more likes.. Cuz this is the exact same thing happened to me ,i totally agree with you..espesially with the "theres lots of other stuff going around in singing"...cuz theres literally just a huge room for improvement for anyone at all! Nd i cannot explain it in words better than you!

I've found using this warm up along with Sinatra's method of gargling olive oil and drinking a glass of warm green tea really helps ease the tension we're trying to get rip of with the warm ups while also having the throat well lubricated for increased range! Great video!

okay wow!!! yes I felt silly for some of the vocal exercises. in fact I had to stop a couple of times and have a giggle fest. but when I was done I decided to sing on my own which is a song I've been singing since I was 12 so almost 15 years now. I've never heard my voice sound so clear and even and I didn't have to fight to reach the high notes for the first time in my life! I felt clear and in control of my own voice. these exercises were so, helpful thank you so much!

7 years later and this training is still relevant! I am a singer who stopped singing more than 35 years ago and although my voice is there the power of it and the high notes I was able to do naturally aren’t there right now. I am sure with your trainings that in a few months that will change. A million thanks to you, I was ready to give up on trying to sing again but someone told me to find a good vocal coach online and I did...YOU!

Thank you so much, Eric!! I tend to lose my voice often due to acid reflux. After doing these exercises, I realized that I constantly and unknowingly hold my lower chest muscles/ diaphragm really tightly. I am thankful to you for sharing this priceless warmup routine for free, for making it easy to follow, for convincing me at the beginning to ignore, or rather embrace the weirdness, and for encouraging me to give it a full try. It has made such a great difference to my voice. My voice feels fuller, does not break, and the vocal fatigue I used to feel in my throat has reduced drastically. With so little effort and so much benefit, vocal warmups are pure gold in terms of return on investment. I am going to stick to this routine and learn more about vocal warmups and voice training. I can not thank you enough. Thank you Eric! 🙏
