What a great episode-not only were the explanations easy to follow, the retro, quirky pan was so much fun! As a child of the 70s growing up in the Midwest, I wonder if the original directions called for a waxed paper, not a parchment paper, sling. I can’t remember ever hearing of anyone using parchment paper in that era. I can’t recall the exact commercial on television, but I do remember baking bread in a cleaned-out coffee can for 4-H projects. So the idea of a cylindrical loaf of bread showed up more places in that decade.

thank you for such a well-rounded episode. p.s., it's much faster if you heat just the milk to a simmer, then add the butter, sugar, water, etc. afterwards... they will still dissolve, and will help cool the milk mixture so you don't have to wait as long for it to come down to temperature that won't kill the yeast.

Coring came put with a small series of what they called "Creative Glass" items in the early 80's. Beautiful modern covered casseroles with cork trivets, the cylinder bread baker, and an exquisitely designed tea pot that won design awards. The small series was durable, functional, and beautiful even in today's standards. Thanks for the demo, Erin - it was good fun!

The first thing I noticed about this design is that you're going to be steaming the hell out of the crust when you bake it, and that's a good thing. Having the tube over it will keep so much moisture in that crust. Oh my goodness.

I made the Broccoli Rabe, Sausage, and Ricotta Galette for my family on Friday before I left to come home-substitutions being puff pastry instead of the rough puff because of time and broccolini instead of broccoli rabe because availability-and everyone who had it loved it. I was very nervous about making a pie but watching your pie videos I mustard up the confidence to do it. Thank you so much. I didn’t see any videos on using jarred fruit. I had jarred organic fruit and I used that but I wasn’t sure for my peach pie because it had a lot of liquid so I wasn’t sure what to do. I ended up draining the liquid and added some of it in the pie after I put the fruit in. I did a double crust and I didn’t have a soggy bottom. I watched your videos over and over again lol. Thank you. You made it very easy to follow

I'd love to see you compare some of the more unique material pans that often are in As Seen On TV, like those copper color cake pans, the silicone molds -- are they actually any different from more standard molds and pans? Specifically I've seen some little pie molds, and wonder if they are easier than making a hand-raised small pie, or the copper pans that say they crisp pizza or cook more evenly. I also second the more bread focused content! I feel like I make a lot less sweet desserts in my day to day, but bread is so fun and useful for basically all meals. Just seeing you seal up the loaf gave me some tips on how I will make my next baguettes!
