The incredible thing about this song is that Erkyah said in an interview that she improvised (made up) the whole song on the spot, in front of this huge audience and she did it, in one shot. That fact that the band kept on beat with a steady melody and the background singers harmonized to a song they'd never heard is pure talent. What's also commendably extraordinary, is that the background singers instinctively knew to add their parts of " Call Him", "Come On Come On come on" while doing it on key and in unison. That is amazing.

This song sounds very good in live performance.I like the drum work out,it is so musical.I often play drums on this song while playing it on CD record.My favorite part is when you have to go on the cymbals and come off on the bass toms.Erykah sings very well and i like the jazz style of the musicians.

@anniechristien Ohh thankyou!!! I remember seeing on youtube D'angelo's concert in Brazil and that was lovely!!! I really hope he finishes his new album and it comes out in 2011 or 12. Him , Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Maxwell are my favourite singers from the 90s and since Lauryn Hill is back to performing and making and album, I really hope he will too. @Bonitaymorena D´angelo´s concert was amazing! Da bomb!Pure funk! The incredible ones - Erykah, Maxwell(love him!), Lauryn and D´angelo - saved the late 90s. I really love black music and I think after Soul II Soul we had no true artists around back then. And I´m so glad they´re still making (good) music. I´m very excited about Badu´s concerts in Rio de Janeiro (next Saturday) and São Paulo (next Sunday). Baduizm in Brazil!
