I found this channel indirectly through Tic Tok. This guy is an intellectual power lifter….. fascinating to listen to. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you for making this video Martin. I wrote my Master's Thesis on Death and Dying and Ernest Becker was very prominent in my paper. I had never heard of him until graduate school, and just became obsessed with his ideas.

The message seems similar to that of the special bible book called Ecclesiastes.

Interesting question is why some people do not have such an instinct of significance (belief in immortality). What traits constitute lack of fear of death?

Great artwork. Maybe we'll be treated once more to some videos that begin with a few seconds of contemplative music before Martin quits.
What do you think about Neville Goddard or Vernon Howard’s ideas?

Not sure where but I heard a great take/story about heaven and, imo, a better way to think about eternalism: Say you got into heaven and you essentially get told "here's eternity, go have fun." In this scenario you think "cool, well, I always wanted to learn to play golf." So, you play golf every day for 1,000 years. After which you can play 18 holes of golf in 18 shots. You say "ok, now what?" so you learn piano for 5,000 years, until you can play everything ever written blindfolded. Now, as this goes on and on, not in the first, the second or even the third but maybe by the 4th or 5th 100, thousand, million, billion, quintillion years, you might start get a little bit bored. After the 8th, you've had enough, so you ask God "hey, I've done everything and now forever has started to seem like a really, really long time. I don't understand." and God replies "its not that you don't understand. Its that you finally do understand the meaning of heaven and you're ready to accept your own death.

There exists no path from pre-existence to nothingness, so like god before us we too must first become before we can dissolve into that nothingness. It is good to find kindred spirits along the way, thanks.
