I was trying to get an espeon in gen 4, my eevee started evolving in the 30s and i was pleased about the friendship timing. Then it evolved into glaceon. Whoops. Icy rock on the route. I used it to great effect that playthrough, anyway.

FINALLY, A COMPETITIVE ESPEON VIDEO! I've used Espeon sometimes with a trick set with Espeon wearing choice specs and using trick, psychic, shadow ball, and thunderwave. It saved me in a clutch battle once too when I had it on a sun team with weather ball instead of thunderwave

Back in X&Y even SunMo, I kept Espeon on my teams cause it was just that good of a Pokémon that no one really saw coming. A fast and good special sweeper that can be switched in when the opponent is obviously going to set up entry hazards or status effects. Due to it being able to be both defensive and offensive, it's easily my favorite Eeveelution. Love its sleek design as well.

I found this insane Moltres set that actually uses rain to have an almost 40 percent chance to ohko an assault vest and perfect ev and iv in SPD shuckle. It uses rain to guarantee that hurricane will hit and choice specs to deal insane damage. I am so sad that Moltres isn't as popular as other legendaries.

Espeon has been the backbone of my team. Magic Bounce for reflecting hazards and status moves. Psychic for decent chip damage. Toxic for setting up status. And protect to stall that status. I siwtch into it when a Pokémon faints because I know it can do decent damage and anything it can’t take out can be finished up with the stall. I also give it yawn sometimes to pressure switch outs to give it more presence on the field. Plus it’s decently fast and I have focus sash on it so I get some good damage in if I can’t use it for anything else

I used to have a wild time setting up skill swap/psych up on magic bounce espeon on doubles with a gothitelle that knew flatter and always held a persim berry. My psychic girls would absolutely devour competitive. Paired with my garchomp to sweep hydreigons, the girls stood their ground

The biggest issue it has is no steel coverage. If they gave it flamethrower it would actually put in some amazing results. Other than that the eeveelution stat spread is doing its bulk zero favors. In case your wondering every eeveelution has the same base stats rearranged. All of them have 60, 65, 65, 95, 110, and 130 in some order.

Yep. It being hard walled by Steel types (who tend to be the ones who throw around those status moves you want to bounce back) has always been its biggest weakness. Low bulk is a problem too; but if it had the coverage it needed, it would blow past a lot of the many checks and counters around. Personally I feel Mystical Fire or Aura Sphere fit more thematically for additional coverage. It’s my favorite Eeveelution so every generation I hope GameFreak gives it what it needs to shine. Maybe next gen lol

Great video as usual 👍. One point i want to point out that should the shaymin go down their. If destiny bond is used in the first turn your opponent clicks sucker punch, you can essentially force them to kill your pokemon by clicking an attacking move as sucker punch would go first in the turn after and destiny bond would still be in effect. I tested that out today, it works.

I stand by that Espeon REALLY needs a strong fire move. While Tera Blast exists and can be used for it, it's less beneficial for Espeon to be Tera Fire over Tera Fairy, as Fairy is a better defensive type. If Espeon got Mystical Fire, a fire move a lot of Psychic Pokemon can learn, You could run Psychic/Psyshock, Tera Blast (Fairy)/(Fighting), Shadow Ball and Mystical Fire, which would give Espeon an insanely good amount of coverage, with Tera Fairy or Fighting covering its weakness well. It wouldn't make Espeon top tier or anything, but it would make it another incredibly good special nuke with added hazard protection.

10:14 you could have done a "there is no right answer for you" play where after you do the destiny bond, you attack to do some damage, then if they don't thunder clap you d.bond again for them to either attack you or thunder clap, then try to keep doing mind games. if they thunderclap to kill before you attack, destiny bond should still be in effect.

With Hatterene being so prominent in OU it might be hard to use it there. Espeon is still good and has the more speedy advantage, but Hatterene makes up for it for having duel stab, better use of Tera, and overall more utility options like Nuzzle and Draining Kiss (Built in Stab). Espeon could be nice in UU though. Edit: The main issue is Espeon's poor bulk making switches very risky compared to Hatterene's much more useful bulk.
