To say he is a bust is not the same thing as saying he can’t play in the league, he can. The reason why he is a bust is because he was the 2nd pick in the draft and he does not give “number 2 production” as Perkins pointed out. We all know that Lonzo would have never been drafted at the number 2 spot if he didn’t have the media attention he did. Lets also not forget that Tatum was drafted number 3, pretty sure Tatum is miles better already than Lonzo probably ever will be at any point in his career. Again, Lonzo is good enough to be in the league and can be a productive on a legitmate team, just only as a role player or even off the bench. A quality role player or even 6th man at best is going to be viewed as a bust if taken number 2 overall.

@jcw0344 жыл бұрын
He has improved. Per 36 is higher overall. He went from playing 33 minutes a game to 28 and is still giving you the same averages despite having less time on the ball. The only reason his numbers isnt popping out is he is splitting pg duties with Jrue and BI. Both of whom have the ball in their hands longer. So his numbers aren't going to be gaudy. To make an example that's like you taking the ball out of Lebron hands and giving it to KD and Cp3 most of the time. Lebron wouldnt have his usual high numbers if that happened. Similar thing with Lonzo. You won't see the numbers increase unless Jrue or BI isnt playing beside him. Example being last year when Lebron went out. He averaged 13 9 7 on 45% shooting and 36% from 3. He would be averaging more than that if he monopolized the ball on this team.
@brandoni2414 жыл бұрын
@@jcw034 When Ball is running the offense, it goes stagnant. When he was starting at PG, the Pelicans were losing by big margins because Ball is not a good half court PG. Honestly, and this might actually help him, he should be moved to the 3. He's a decent spot up shooter, good wing defender, and good rebounder. Seems like small forward suits him better. As a point, he's terrible in the pick n roll, not a good shooter off the dribble, not that athletic (he's actually rather slow for a break PG, he can just throw outlet passes well), and doesn't finish well at the rim.
@swiiper_the_fox4 жыл бұрын
J-Strokes you brought up his stats as if those are good numbers for the potential people expected. He had wide open shots when playing with LeBron so despite him not having the ball much, his shots were wide open. His half court offense is terrible and his pacing of the game is lacking. The ball wasn’t in his hands because he was inconsistent with his play. Kyle Kuzma didn’t have the ball a lot but he was clearly one who gave you some consistency even with Lebron on the court. His opportunity with the Pelicans was golden and he lost his spot to an unknown Pg who runs the offense better. Ball is a back up not the starting PG people thought he would be , what Ja Morant is doing or De’aaron Fox has done is the bar he needs to reach and he is far from it

It seems to me that Lonzo lost his confidence in shooting after he came to the nba due to the pressure his father created for him (and injuries).

perk is right. 1st season excuse is he’s a rookie ok. 2nd season excuse lebron got the ball out of his hands fine. what abt now? a young team playing for nothing and he isn’t even starting. 2nd pick in the draft u expect more production and he hasn’t done that. benched for a jj/jrue backcourt. not saying he’s booty cheeks but for the expectations he was picked for at 2nd overall (over tatum and JJJ) he just hasn’t reached that. if he was picked 6-10 then that’s different but he wasn’t so he is a bust at 2nd overall

Ryan Williams hey man fair enough. since fultz has been improving it’s hard for me to say he’s a bust bc we haven’t seen if the player he is now is who he’s gonna be. plus i also give him the fact that he was mysteriously injured to the point where he wasn’t even the same player they drafted. but he definitely hasn’t lived up to 1st overall expectations yet. it’s just lonzo hasn’t improved at all and he hasn’t had an injury to the scale fultz has had so the player he is now is probs who he is in total
