Thank you for making this excellent video about a Bible that has been invaluable to me. My vision is poor and while I "can" read moderate-sized print, it's a challenge and I can't do it very long. For this reason I most often read Bibles on Kindle, but I do like to have printed Bibles as well, especially for going to church with. My wife got me a copy of the super-giant print ESV for Christmas a few years ago, and I love it. It is the black imitation leather, not genuine leather, and so is beginning to show some definite signs of wear, but it has certainly served me well. I have tried several super-giant-print Bibles and the ESV is without question the best. It is a rather heavy book, but not so weighty that you can't take it to church. The pages are a bit thin, but not as thin as exists in some other Bibles, and it has a good white palette that combines with the large, well-designed font to make an imminently readable Bible. For comparison, I have a 16-point CSB Bible that I can only read for relatively short intervals, and even my 16.5-point NASB pales in comparison to this ESV Bible. I am especially blessed that the ESV is available in this format because it is (along with the NKJV) my favorite translation (among several that I really like). Again, after three years or so of heavy use my copy is looking kind of rough, but it isn't exactly falling apart either so that's a pretty good shelf life. I am considering buying the genuine leather edition, but with rumors of a revised ESV possibly coming out in the near future I am not sure I want to make that kind of investment in a Bible that might be replaced (although some have said the expected changes are very minor and not a serious revision like happened with the NASB 95 going to the NASB 2020). Regardless, I am very glad Crossway published this Bible and I get the impression quite a few Christians rely on super-giant print editions for their Bible readings. I am glad to see a video that lets people know this excellent Bible is available.

I am legally blind and found this text block a couple of years ago (not in genuine leather). I was thrilled to find it; when I first suffered my vision loss in 1990, there were few truly large print options. Typically I need magnification at about 4x or 5x to read, but I can read this one without any magnifiers. Yay! Only trouble was the weight. I need to hold it very close to my eyes and my arthritic hands struggled.. My solution was to have it rebound in two volumes. Vitaly at SDG Rebinds did a wonderful job. Yes, it was expensive - you end up with 2 books , so it was basically getting two rebinds done. But for me it is a priceless treasure. I had been primarily using my iPad all these years and using magnifiers can be cumbersome. I love the feel of holding and reading a real book again. Yes, there is some ghosting, but it has not been an issue for me. I can just sit and read. Plus you feel really accomplished when you read a section and then look back at how many pages you read. 😜

I am a considered legally blind pastor. I have super-giant print bibles. For those who struggle seeing, Super Giant Print is priceless. For me personally, the size of the Bible doesn’t matter. It is useless if you can’t see to read it. Super Giant Print is awesome! Be careful to make sure it says Super Giant Print, otherwise the print will not be as large.

Love giant and super giant print Bibles! Wish someone would print a giant print study Bible, I know it would be quite hefty, but I would still use it.

14-17 point is my range. I suppose it's space saving but many giant print Bibles have small print in the concordance. If I need large print...... 🙄😀

Thank you for this review. I actually did find this Bible a few months ago. It is the first and only Bible I've owned. That's sad that it took this long. I'm also what they call legally blind. Total blindness in one eye 20 over 200 in the other eye. I survived on Kindle Bibles and audio before this one came along. The question of the day is why doesn't Crossway send that Bible to somebody who is truly mostly blind for review? Don't you think a type of person like myself would give feedback where a normal sighted person might overlook it? Seriously no offense but it just makes me wonder. Again I apologize if that came out wrong. I'm just trying to get the word out but seem to be ignored by publishers.

Their review program I believe is based to some degree on the size of the audience of a potential reviewer. That being said, they might send a review copy to someone who would be in a specific target demographic for a particular edition for a written review. However, I do not know for sure, as it's up to the publisher's discretion. It might be worth contacting Crossway about it.

Love the giant print Bibles! I have the 7 vol. KJV from PTL/Regal Publishing. This one is much nicer❤

I wear trifocals, so my eyesight is definitely going down hill. I have a couple of large print Bibles, including the ESV Wide Margin Large Print. I probably don’t need a 17 pt yet, but the time is coming. That said I’d be happy with the trade offs that Crossway has made here.

My sight is bad, but not anywhere near this point. (Yet!) I am glad such Bibles exist. My biggest fear is not being able to read the Bible at all one day. I hope Jesus takes me home before that time comes.

I have the NASB in super giant print. Like you, my vision is bad and not near this point, but it's getting worse all the time. This makes it more comfortable for me to read the Bible without fatigue or straining.

Looks like Frisch was zapped by Wayne Szalinski’s machine from Honey I Shrunk The Kids and then handled a Gideon pocket New Testament. Pretty surreal.

Say what you will about the size and price, but it's more affordable than an ESV Pulpit Bible, with a more generous font size to boot.

I bought a Large Print ESV Pew Bible for reading in front of church. It was $15 and gets the job done.

So with page width consistent with that of half font size, they should have gone single column! As is I make that only around 5 words per column and 10 would make more sense, so SINGLE COLUMN! 😢😂 At least they do provide something for those with older eyes.
