Etwow wheel for the KUGOO S1, how much slower is it?

I got asked many times if the 40EUR e-TWOW rear wheel is worth the price and how much slower would it make the Kugoo S1. Let's see!

I only just recieved my kugoo s1 yesterday and I rode it to work today and it sounded like it was going to break so I'm very thankful for this video and your advice. Comfort over speed for me is more important.

First of all to say very good review and provide an a decent alternative about the rear wheel, when I received my kugoo S1 I was so disappointed about the rear crappy and bad quality wheel, I changed for the inflatable one and the result wasn't the expected, decrease the speed and had two puntcures on less than a week, I ordered a rubber e-twow wheel that you show below the description and hopefully get better perfeormance, the kugoo s1 is a good scooter but the main handicap is his terrible rear wheel, thank you

As far as I understand the best options for the rear wheel replacement for KUGOO S1 (maybe other wheel-similar/identical S models?) would be to buy: 1) Original etwow S2 BOOSTER electric scooter wheel ($47) 2) Honeycomb Tyre ($19) or Honeycomb Tire Rear Wheel For KUGOO S1 (didn`t find, only for S1 PRO) 3) Honeycomb Tyre for KUGOO S1 PRO + Rear Fork For KUGOO S1 PRO ($14) (cheaper option: to get the rear wheel for KUGOO S1 PRO, widen up the rear fork by hand and you ready to go; use longer screw when tightening up the wheel) Pay attention to the inner diameter of the axel Suspension/Power efficiency stock wheel - firm: less comfort (100%) rubber wheel - soft: good comfort (90%) pneumo wheel - soft: max comfort (80%)

I have a kugoo s1 and I had the same problem with my scooter, what I did is that I ordered a 8 inch honeycomb wheel for kugoo s1 pro which is wider stronger however softer and smoother to ride. Many people said that it's impossible to have a direct change without replacement of the rear fork but it was simple all you have to do is remove the old one and use your hands and expand the fork outwards (not too much) enough to fit your new wider wheel on. I used new longer screws to screw it back on and works perfectly. Cost me £25 to purchase the wheel (s1 pro wheel) from Ali express. So go for rubber honeycomb wheel no noise and very smooth ride.

Hey man, thanks for sharing! Replacement wheel is not plastic - it is rubber (well, there is a plastic option of course but why would you replace plastic with plastic). When I started looking for the replacement wheels there was no s1 pro model yet :) now it is an option. Rear fork costs like 15-20 eur. I did not know you can fit one by bending the fork.

@@VRMinde ohh ok, yes very easy as well I done a research before I made my mind about changing it and many people said I had to change the rear fork with s1pro one, but I just expanded it with hand but you need 1cm may be 2cm longer screw to screwing it back on other wise the original one become too short and doesn't get tight enough

I have the S1 Pro, which has the softer honeycomb tires. They don't seem as loud as the S1 tires you have. Was the honeycomb an option you considered, or are the e_TWOW just that much better? Thanks for the great comparison vid!

SWE Rider When I was looking for other wheel there were no more options except this one. Somone asked just yesterday if the wheel from the s1 pro would fit. I have no idea :) Anyone in Denmark that has a Kugoo s1 pro and would not mind borrowing the rear wheel for 10mins? :) Thanks mate!

I recently bought a Kugoo Kirin S1 as a sort of tester scooter (see if I would get on with it, plus with it being so cheap it wouldn't matter if it was confiscated as I'm from the UK) and I understand that the Kugoo S1 is a different model but do you know if the same sort of wheels would work or if I could even possibly go with a bigger wheel? I saw your video about changing from 8.5" to 10" and how much more comfortable it was on the M365 so wanted to know if I could do something similar on the Kirin. I've been travelling on it about 10 miles a day atm and while it's bearable I have to ride down industrial areas that full of potholes making for a rather bumpy ride.

Jason Pearson , hi mate, I have never saw a Kirin in real life and I do not know what kind of wheels are on it and if there is a direct replacement-one. Generally, it is always possible to modify such things, the question is how many changes you have to do. This etwow wheel is expensive, but direct replacement for the s1. For other wheels you might have to make custom forks, modify fender mounts, axle bolts etc. That will require some tools and understanding of mechanics to make it reliable enough and safe. If you have another wheel on hands you can try to fit it and see if it works out🙄

hello it arrives with the 8 mm axle already mounted or you have to use the one of the original full wheel because I ordered on banggood and it came with 6 mm bearing and without axle screw how can I do it I should find a 6 axle mm x 45 mm or directly order a new wheel that already has the axle thank you can you help me? and nice video!!

Max Fly the wheel comes as you see in the video - with the axle already. The same as the stock one. You just take out two bolts and replace the wheel. You could try and replace bearings and axle for the one from bangood but you will need to find those parts somewhere and press fit the bearings.

i got the PU wheel and it even shows more speed when im going full send.. but the noise reduced quite a lot. comfort is not the biggest concern for me cuz there are some nice roads nearby.

yes, its way better. makes less noise, the scooter goes as fast as it was with the stock one. the only problem is that its very thin, and i also got into a bit of a crash last night. it was wet, i was riding on sidewalk with small bricks and there was a pretty hard turn. i was going around 24-25kmh and i turned into the corner and felt that front is going the right way, but back was staying where i was riding before(basically i was drifting at 25kmh) and there was a tree. i was heading at it fast. so i slammed the front brake and it turned me 180° degrees around and i fell on the sidewalk. the hit wasnt too harsh, but i was in a bit of a shock :D. it had happened to me before, but it was dry and the back wheel got back in place easily. be careful riding ur scooters in wet road conditions :)

@@vykintasmizgiris3247 Glad that you are ok man, drive safe! These hard wheels in winter become like a rock, there is not a lot of grip, especially when wet. Do not hit brakes in this situation next time as it will transfer all the weight on the front and then you risk the front wheel to slip out, which is normally a slam on your face :) I have learned it by riding motorcycles back in a day.

Cheaper option for you is to get the rear wheel for kugoo s1 pro and fit it on just widen up the rear fork by hand and you ready to go, ohh just use longer screw when tightening up the wheel, £25 on Ali express

If your original wheel is going spare why don't you try changing the bearings and putting 6mm saw cuts across the tread every 25mm around it to see if it makes it softer and reduces the noise?😉

​@@VRMinde Just had an idea of an endeavor like upgrading it to 10 inch as I saw you did with m365 and fitting a cheap aliexpress fork suspension (also seen you did it for m365). I know you tried a very similar project - the 2wd. So for my project I'll try to gather the knowledge in all of your videos. The problem I expect, as you mentioned in your project, is the possible difference in size/shape of stems. I'd appreciate very much if you could guess whether it's possible without flex cutting. I'm willing to solder tho.

shawn G kugoo is a cheap etwow copy from China that you need to basically reassemble completely, seal with sealant to be waterproof, replace the wheel and after all of that still have wobbly handlebars and noise from every part :) As far as I know, etwow is lightyears ahead with the quality of their scooter.

@@katostaxx6225 in that “secret” menu he probably changed mph to kmh. This scooter can go 30km/h :) (18.6mph) You would need way more power both from the battery pack and the motor to make it run 30mph. No way you could achieve it with stock parts.
