You mean *at* making the community angry. Just a wee grammatical oversight.

In the article talking about the new tank designer, they did mention about how the ship designer was flawed like how you did while showing a much smaller tech tree that helps address one of such issues: there was too much to invest in with little timely gains. Hopefully this can reach back and improve upon the ship builder with the addition of automated ship upgrading.
@johnnyattack3 жыл бұрын
They could improve the ship builder if one could use navy xp to boost all naval research so that you can add 1940 guns and torpedos on a 1940 ship in around 1940 without having done nothing but naval research for two years.
@TurbulentEitri3 жыл бұрын
@@johnnyattack That would be a start, but it ultimately depends on your ability to generate a healthy intake of naval xp to begin with. It's also more likely to be used on doctrines first. Just going to hold my breath until all of the changes are announced first, but a smaller tree might do it good if not production cost rebalancing.

the dev often clarify things in the comments of the dev blogs, they confirmed a lot of stuff, mainly having to make two OOBs. they showed off the code, it doesnt look as bad as MTG OOB but its still not great

EU4 has many features in the default version but if you want to have more fun you (need) to buy the dlc's. And I think the tank designer will be available in the Barbarossa DLC.

Thank you. This was a level headed and reasonable review. I stopped buying Euiv since Golden Century and it griefs me to see this game in such state. I went so far as to edit an old review on steam earning people to not buy this game. Anyway, let's see what hapoens with victoria 3. If that gane flops, it will most likely be te the end for them, which is prety sad.

It's good idea to give ai help us something (can enable or disable ai) like research, focus and tank, ship design because I really tired when have to do all of these by myself

When a game is rushed out unfinished, it's usually the fault of corporate clowns who know nothing about making games and who's job is marketing. I was a former Blizzard and Maxis fan, so I am well aware of what happens to a good game company once corporate clowns take the reigns. EDIT: Steve Jobs gives a good explanation of why companies that involve computers (which gaming would fall under) end up this way, should look it up.

HoI4 was a better game at release. Features like: * new ship system which nobody understands * new resistance system making minors unplayable (unless they get free cores from focus trees) * the whole fuel nonsense that makes navies ten times as much tedious to micro Just made it far far worse that it was at release. EU4 gets a bunch of disconnected bloat, but it's mostly fine. HoI4 got much worse treatment than that.

Sounds like you think hoi4s peak was Death or Dishonor not release. The air mechanics at release were wayy worse than they are now.

@@Dhjaru First few patches were fine, but other than bugfixes they didn't do much either way. HoI4 definitely went downhill hard with Man the Guns, and even more with La Résistance.

They should just implement everything in to the base game, then just have the "DLC" act as keys. I think the issues you state should be addressed as following (keep in mind I am a filthy casual, so this might be dumb from a hardcore player PoV) 1 - Ship designer is not too bad imo, I think a better way to handle it though, would be each hull level gives a "standard set-up" which creates ships that do their job. So the average player can just do that, while ship designer is reserved for micro-managers to get that slight edge, much like people who micro land-units will have an edge than people who only use the command system. I think naval combat is a bigger issue than the ship designer to be honest, I would actually be perfectly fine with it if it worked similar to air, which imo works well. 2 - The resistance system I am fine with, it was way worse before the update when you had to have a bunch of units everywhere, now you just send some manpower and gear (generally I use cavalry and MP, armored cars if I got a ton of production). As for small nations, I always just puppeted things so you don't have to deal with resistance, if you decide to go full-blown conqueror mode as a small nation, I think that should be part of the challenge. I understand the complaint, but unlike the convoluted naval stuff I don't think it needs an overhaul. Although not related to what you posted, I think one issue with the resistance update is the lack of spy slots. I think there should be two base, it's pretty stupid to have a spy get captured like the first day you send them out and not be able to rescue them because you haven't even unlocked anymore slots, and also get maybe 4 or 5 max without being the spy master, as they feel weak to me overall. 3 - Fuel is fine imo, and with a naval overhaul that particular issue would be addressed. Really I just think there needs to be a overhaul to the navy mostly. If the other issues are that huge, they could always make a "simplified mode" for lack of a better term. Other games have done that sort of thing. But as I said, I'm a filthy casual with this game, so who knows.
