This is very well thought out set up. Not complicated but you can do all you could ever want. People can easily end millions of dollars on studio gear and still not get the sound. With what you use, and the sound you get, I tip my hat in high respect to your abilities. I think you've got it very good. This is making me reassess my spaghetti factory wire mess and overly complicated, outdated machines and just create a clean compact but powerful set up like yourself. I am envious. Hi Euge , it's sure on your JCM 800 you don't have Effect loop but me i have JCM 2000 DSL 100 i have one and i gonna use that because with full overdrive it's preferable to use loop for not interfering the sound.If you play blue rock it's ok you can plug in front.You can use in front anyway but big overdrive normaly is in behind amp.
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Well as the name suggests: overdrive drives the amp over so in front the amp it is. Try to put SD-1 (or any basic od) in the loop and it sounds horrible 😁. But whatever works man 😎👌. (Pre) Amp like od / dist pedals are another story and they work both ways.

Hi Euge. Awesome that a great artist like you shares his ideas, insights on how to set up everything up to get a great guitar sound. Thnx, man!! One question… I assume the Radial J48 is connected after the Wampler DB booster and the J48 goes to the guitar input on the back of the KHE, and the xlr output of the J48 goes to input of the Steinberg Audio Interface on the front? Do you still use the reamp box in this setup? Keep bringing these awesome video’s please! Thnx!!! 🤘🏻
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Yes exactly like that 👌. I use the re-amp box if I need to reamp something. Which is hardly ever 😎. But I’ve used it every now & then if I mix something I haven’t recorded myself ’cos I always ask the band / artists to deliver also guitar & bass DI signals so I can reamp them with my amps if needed to get the mix sound better.

Wow Euge- you play a LOT quieter in that room then I would have thought! I could hear you pick on the strings louder then the actual guitar... Might have to get the Bogren - that really allows nice tone to be dialed back to reasonable volumes through the cabinet. Hi Euge. Paul from Texas here. Question for you...How do you put modulation effects in the effects loop using the Softube JCM800? I have Amproom and the Marshall cab pack. Also, which Jens Bogren IR pack has your signature IR? Leads and Cleans?
@EugeValovirta230V3 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, Just put it after the amp ”block” before the cab. Or you can put it after the cab too like what you do when mixing a song and want to add post effects (dly & rev for example). Leads & Cleans yes 👌.

@@EugeValovirta230V Recently in one of your videos about Marshall Amproom, you used a micropitch shifter, delay, and a chorus from Tru plugins (Not sure of the spelling of the name of the company) and compared the modulation plugins signal chain before and after the pre-amp. The sound you got from the modulation plugins in the effects loop was super wide and super cool. How did you do that? Thank you for all you do and for your KZbin channel Euga.

Stereo track in DAW and then add the effects in the track’s inserts or create a separate aux track for the effects and then put that in the aforementioned stereo tracks send / return (pre-fader) 👌😎. And if the effect has a mono / stereo option choose stereo 😊.

Those were the ones I bought like 10-15 years ago and Genelecs are awesome in general and those were in my budget then. I never really considered anything else ’cos Genelecs are pretty much an industry standard.
