@@kelvinyap1990 There are some people who drive fast in more affordable cars but drive slowly in luxury cars because they fear the high maintenance costs of the expensive car. They believe that cheaper cars are less costly to repair, so they tend to push the pedal harder in them. Are you one of those people?

Buying Mercedes EV but cost too overpriced to replace battery electric replacement compare to rivals such as BMW EVs, Volvo EVs and Audi EVs

Same can be said for Mercedes hybrid battery replacement that cost very expensive than BMW, Volvo and Audi. Even Tesla EV battery replacement is also cheaper than Mercedes
Heard from Benz salesman before few weeks back that Benz battery replacement cost too expensive and very surprised that from friends, one who owned Audi while another owned BMW, but Benz one of the expensive to replace electric battery than Audi and BMW
EV still have alot of room for improvements in term of battery technology, Malaysia EV infrastructures. However material technology is improving all the time, so still down to each individual's use case for their vehicle. Some people likes OG combustion engine, some people suitable for MHEV, PHEV hybrid, some people can go for full EV. Doesn't mean EV is not suitable for your use case then it is not suitable for everyone.
Really well said TCY. Really love your conclusion part on mindset. Spot on! Although I'm selling recon car and used car, I've start doing homework and research on EVs. Thank you for your detailed explanation.

Aiya biz model much like printer jor... They will sell you a printer for rm200.00. Printer ink will be rm100.00. Battery (considered as parts) has high markup. Generally profit margin will be 200% to 500%. Yes...tree huggers and future adopters...take heel.

Hi Choo Yee, online information on tyre replacement cost for EV vehicles in Malaysia is quite sparse. May I know how much is the cost for a set of 4 tyres, say for Tesla 3, standard 18-inch? Thank you.
Nor petrol or ev have it market .. don’t need to comment or encourage … some have extra money can choice what their like . Just buy what u need and what you can effort … none issue
Thanks for sharing! Personally I will only consider an EV only after 2025 when I have a clearer picture of the road tax, insurance and maintenance cost despite no rebates. By 2025, things will be normalised . Not in a rush to own an EV now so let the market try out first in Malaysia 😂

So after 5 years .. still can sell how much money ?

EV acceptance in this country will not be as fast as others as long as: 1) No price parity with ICE cars. 2) Ease of accessible nationwide charging infrastructure 3) Ron 95 at RM2.05.

I am in the automotive line and the projection by 2030 at least 15% or above new car sales will be EV. 1. More and more EV launched and cheaper model will be introduced in Malaysia market. 2. Setting up charging station is not difficult compared to a petrol station. Infra not yet ready because investor need to access which location will give better ROI to setup charging station. 3. Gov trying to reduce the subsidy of petrol coz gov overly subsidized on petrol now. Our fuel prices are cheaper than Saudi Arabia, Qatar and UAE who produce more oil.
Issue is the resale value of the EV. Is there any report on the condition of the battery for the buyer. As a buyer not confident on the condition of the 2nd hand EV if I don know the condition of the battery. So will like to know we can send the car for a check and obtain the report.
