the blue thing that he used is called bromothymol blue, it turns yellow when acidic and was probably used because it disappears after evaporation, meaning that he probably used some sort of acid.

I've worked out my own formula for evap. web shooter, and I'm working on an evaporation shooter right now (but I'm *sticking* with solenoid until I get the parts for the evaporation shooter) So I'm thinking of using Chloroform as my solvent, because it's non-flammable and has a low-ish boiling point, making it perfect for evaporating on it's way out. For the polymer, what about some kind of polycarbonate? PC dissolves in chloroform. PC is also pretty close to indestructible, and is impact and temperature resistant. It also works as an insulator.

Wild! I recall following the webshooter forums almost since their inception on the SuperHeroHype forums. After all their talk of heating coils it's amazing to *finally* see one in action! I know you don't usually answer questions like these, but I've played back the video a couple of times and now and still can't quite figure it out. What sort of valve are you using, and how are you actuating it? The button on the trigger is clearly used for the heating coil, and there's no solenoid valve or anything. I imagine it's likely a mechanical valve, yet I see no obvious lever. How'd ya do it?

1. not sure, it's pretty dangerous and difficult to get everything to work properly. I constantly have to do a systems check before and after usage. 2. fluid is currently a secret, but there are other formulas that are compatible with this design, like jack bakers for example. kzbin.info/door/ZwKBMoH7gnMUISZOajZE7A 3. approximately 50$ each, however, this is with a bunch of trial and error, you know like repairing and replacing components in the process. 4. took me about a month to build, and around a week or two of designing it.

Is the fluid entirely different from Jack's? Or are they a similar concept with different materials? Like is Jack's fluid compatible because they're similar? Or are they different yet they just happen to be compatible with your evaporation web shooter?

Thing is most things either can't form "string like" webbing fast enough when in contact with oxygen. Or the formula is extremely acidic which harmful for yourself and others. The best webbing you do is actually harvest webbing from living spiders while it's still in liquid form. (which is hard and costs a lot) Best idea I can come up with ideal webbing is doing spider breeding (basically like dog breeding) using Darwin Bark spiders or genetically changing them to "improve them" and then carefully extracting the liquid silk from their glands and contain it in a vacuumed sealed area.

Thank you for replying. Also I would like to ask if you ever tried of using an air can duster to pressurize the cartridge instead of butane. Air can duster contains di-fluoroethane, tri- fluoroethane and tetra fluoroethane. I calculated and found out that these gases are denser than Co2, which means you need little of it to pressurize the cartridge. If you tilt the air can upside down, it sprays out as a solid (ice). Close the cartridge in the solenoid valve quickly and the ice will pressurize the cartridge by becoming a liquid and eventually a gas at room temperature. I'm currently trying to calculate the freezing temperature of the contents in the can so it can stay an ice longer which will give me more time to close the cartridge in the solenoid before it evaporates to gas.

PLEASE REPLY i really loved your works and am working on webs shooters on my own, i found the idea of the cartridge you just used is very simple and genius but i don't know how to make it, it looks better than using lighters too so i was wondering. can you tell me what did youused for the cartridge? looks like you used a lighters nozzle but a bit customized, and looks like you used a mini perfume tube for the cartridge but im not quite sure and where did you get the tube to store the fluid? it would be a great help if you would tell me the answer i can work on the firing trigger and the fluid myself, i just needed a bit of help on the shooters mechanics and im planing on sticking with the lighter web shooters concept

Heyy The Human Spider, I'm wondering why don't you share the fluids formula for the web? Think of all the creators that make web shooters, it would literally make this industry rise a level up. Such as if you'd be playing a video game and could pick to get yourself a level up or yourself and everybody else a level up. Of course they could use it but after all aren't we here to make science and inventions. By myself I'm probably going to make sort of a web shooter (classy) soon and I believe I'm not the only one who really could use it well. Thank you for having me.
