Good to see a solid performer at a modest cost. As far as I know, the weight champ is the Nitecore Carbo 20000, 67.5 Wh at 297 g.

This powerbank appears to be a direct clone of a Ravpower powerbank that goes by the same name, the PD Pioneer. Same capacity, same ports, power output, etc.

Love your test ! I'm really grateful you provide such quality and objective review. Makes me want to reconnect with my electromagnetic cours and understand the topic once and for all ! Since you encourage us to ask question about what we don't understand : could you explain how do I know if a charger is good for this type of device (if you already explained it sorry I didn't understand it) ? I get that it support 30W max but does any chargeur under 30W would do ? Are there other things to consider ? To get to the point : I hope I can use my Macbook charger 30W so I don't have to buy and carry an extra one but I can't convince myself it's a good idea. Yep, good question. This will charge with a smaller charger. These have a power conversion stage between the battery and the ports so you can charge this with any Power Delivery, PD power adapter. The 30W adapter is perfect to share though since that's what this will charge at anyway.

Thanks for the thorough review. How has it held up, three months later? Been looking for a high quality power bank but a little concerned by the companies' reputation on Amazon and by a few of the reviews warning of failure after a few months of use.

Mine has been doing well. I've only drained and charged it two more times in that time though. I have too many power banks so swap between them a lot.

I’m a pretty unique viewer in that I use these battery packs to power amateur radios. The 12V mode on these battery banks is amazing. However, most of my radios are low power and draw ~.3A on receive and many of these batteries turn off. Is there a way to add that mode as a test result? Ie supports low power mode or does not.

This powerbank has quite a whitelabel history. I have the Henhot branded one which seems to be the same as this one for over a year. It's holding up pretty nicely. It's unbeatable for the price. Can recommend.

@@AllThingsOnePlace I don't know if it's in the same category, but POIYTL JS12 looks interesting. It's smaller at 20000mAh but it can support 100W and cheaper ($44 with coupon). The imuto 65W 27000mAh looks interesting too but on the back (a reviewer's picture) it say 20V-3.25A 4200mAh which is very confusing. I'm looking for a powerbank that supports 20V-3.25A = 65W and I don't know if there's a clear winner :-/ The Baseus is a bit too pricey IMHO and I'd get 2 crappy one for that price.

Yeah, It seems like I am the one stop shop for that information and I am very slow, hahaha. If the channel ever gets to a 'pays for my time size', never going to happen, I will certainly spend more time on these and get videos out quicker, I am the bottleneck, well having a job is really, but is that a good thing? This evatronic (also available under lots of brands) is a nice unit for compactness and weight efficiency. For charging a watch, it is probably way overkill. The larger stuff like the Blade or Anker 737 are also way over sized for that job. They'll all work and they are all good options. My bet is something smaller will be appropriate but I haven't tested them yet. For now I'd go with this one or the blade.

A little off topic with the video , but has anyone understood what is a gan charger ? Is it one that uses gallium in all its components or just the chip or both the chip and mosfet ? Or it just supports pd charging ? Since you started to tear open chargers i guess it would be useful to know how % gan is a charger. Btw got the rocoren 140w for 30 euro so i guess i should be content even if it is 50% gan.

Sounds like I need to make a video. In general the GaN is only one part in the device, the primary side switching MOSFET. All the GaN generations don't have anything to do with the actual transistor, just how it is being packaged or other totally unrelated features. The other MOSFETS, like output side and rail switching in USB C, are all silicon, the main rail is usually a P channel too, can't change the industry now though they are 'trenched' in. (that's a transistor joke, if you get it you get it) In a power factor corrected device, since the PFC control chips are mostly older, they mostly use regular MOSFET's still. Most are not synchronous either so just a low side switch and a silicon diode. Some use a silicon carbide diode. I have yet to see GaN in the PFC stage though no reason it can't be, or Silicon Carbide for that matter. All comes down to cost, performance is way down the list.

Its same model with brand name ravpower 60w maybe same manufacturer. Inside is LG battery. Just use about 2 year with 100% use everyday. And suddenly not working.. then i teardown and the board its faulty. Battery 4 pieces and 1 piece is dead. Other 3 still in high capacity.. i like this powerbank because its light and the shape very comfortable in my pocket all day

This unit seems like a good power bank, and what a turn of events for a change ha? In my experience, I've never seen power banks state capacity in watt hours, companies clearly don't want you to know that. All power banks are rated in milly amp hours, to state battery capacity. To be honest, I always believed that as the measurement standard. I have since learned from you however, that it is not the best measurement for capacity, as it is all varied based on voltage and all that. Beings that watt hours is the better measurement for capacity, I really think regulation needs to get put in place to force companies to state the watt hours. I know the FAA has regulations that you can only bring up to 100 watt hours on a plane, but thats the most regulation I ever heard of lol.

Yeah, they do have to state watt hours somewhere on the device. So, they do, in the tiniest text on the back of the units. haha But it doesn't mean they do what I want which is to state what the actual output is. I want to know if I can get 70 watt hours out! But yeah, overall, this little power bank is decent. Definitely a clone of a clone but that's okay as long as it works.

This is RavPower. RavPower was de-listed from Amazon in 2021 for paying for reviews. Many firms do this, but RavPower's sin is that they weren't doing it quietly, they were blatantly paying for reviews. Many of their new products had coupons in the box offering gift cards in exchange for 5 star reviews, often for amounts equal to the item's purchase price. RavPower still sells RavPower branded items on their own site, but also under a number of other brand names like Evatronic. Have a number of Rav's products and they've always worked well.

Doesn't seem like a bad unit for the price. With a 20V mode, even at the 58Wh measured usable power, it would probably give my ~50Wh laptop battery roughly a full charge. Perhaps it is listed under the Evatronic name because the RavPower name is banned on Amazon. Not sure what all that nonsense about it being from Paris is, though. Sunvalley group have sleazy marketing, but they make perfectly cromulent electronics from what I can tell.

Yeah, that's kind of my assessment as well. I purposefully didn't mention RavPower but yeah, they're the same. I already carried this around a bit (if you couldn't tell from the scratches on the case) and it does seem like a decent little power bank.

Looks good. For similar price, I bought Baseus Adaman 65W, 74Wh for similar price. Has extra USB-A, can also charge with micro-USB, and it's Blue! It has a digital display for remaining capacity, Output Voltage and Current. I charge it at 60W with Baseus GaN3 100W desktop charger reviewed by @AllThingsOnePlace. I use powerbank for my Sony Vaio laptop that requires 10.5V. I give it 11V with PPS mode using XYPDE USB-C trigger board to barrel jack. Thx for the review.
