Warm and batteries do not go together well. I was really surprised to see it be so spotty and unstable. It was reviewed quite a lot in the past by big KZbinrs, but knowing now that it can be useless and dangerous during summer I wouldn't buy it. Thanks for your service!

Yeah, the marketing is heavy on this one, I need to work on getting more timely but usually the people that get videos out quickly get them for free and have to say only what they were paid to say. I am not above sponsored content but the sponsor can't be the subject in the video otherwise it is just a big ad.

Best review I’ve found, so far. I have little very understanding of electronics, but you cover important things (like effective capacity) really well. And I’ve found that those things are rarely covered at all in many power bank reviews. You earned yourself a sub sir!

I'll take reliability and capacity over bling bling any day. I love the looks, but I'd never buy something with these issues unless I were a hype reviewer - and then I'd probably have it given to me free anyway. @AllThingsOnePlace
@AllThingsOnePlace Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think it's tough to figure out how that heat issue applies. It over heats at heavy usage but it was fine at about 45 watts. So, it probably can power the steam deck fine. The question comes down to, how long will it last powering that device and with a thermal issue it is ultimately down to shortening battery and component life in the device. There have been a couple people that have these that have not had the issue but it is a gamble. For the price...

"it should be able to super fast charge samsung devices" says allthingsoneplace in this video... A protocol of 3.3 - 20-21v 5a is able to pull 10v 4.5 a for the maximum Samsung 45w charging, so this power bank DOES FULLY support 45w samsung charging. Anything 11volts or higher at 5 amps will fully utilize the samsung charging. Doesn't need to be 11v 5a and another 20-21v 5a protocol. 11v 5a, 16v 5a, 20 or 21v 5a protocols, they all have the power that the samsung power needs.

I have one of this, mine in the beginning was really unstable below 30%(at any load would run to 0% and stay for a while), maybe bad cells, after some charge cycles, it started working more stable and predictable. When charging i never saw any overheating alerts, maybe is because i aways use it in the upright position with the usb ports up. I tested it with another 100w Powerbank and was able to take 54Wh from it before it overheated at near 0%, but this was in a cold (20°c granite surface). After watching this video I did a few tests and was unable to get it to overheat during charging. Edit: I was able to get it to overheat, by charging it in the horizontal position. Also this one does not have premium cells from Samsung, instead it has BAK cells Sorry for the long comment...
@AllThingsOnePlace
@AllThingsOnePlace Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment! It is good to see some more testing on this one. I got the quick overheat condition by setting it to the maximum power it claims to deliver, which it really didn't like. Didn't matter which way it was facing. Interesting you got different results in different positions.

Shargeek is never a manufacturer. They just bought the design from ARUN and rebranded it. They even resold the solution to smartphone brands like Meizu. CE simply means that the manufacturer is responsible for any issues that might occur with a product. It's not a safety listing of any kind, but it suggests that the product should have pass basic safety testing and should comply with all the EU regulation. Note should. Also, CE is never listed for a specific country, that would be something like TÜV or similar.

I think there’s too many options to list! I’d probably get a reasonable power bank, a PD trigger and a dc-dc converter to dial in the exact voltage you need.

How to know if this power bank support Onplus SUPERVOOC charging protocol ?
@AllThingsOnePlace
@AllThingsOnePlace Жыл бұрын
Does anything support that except oneplus specific hardware? Anyway this won’t even if it did because it’ll overheat in a few minutes anyway so not recommended to get that much power out of this device.

Anker 737? Opinion?
@AllThingsOnePlace
@AllThingsOnePlace 2 жыл бұрын
It's not bad, it is actually the most efficient in terms of power conversion I have tested yet, charges the fastest and discharges the fastest of anything I have looked at. It is heavy, it does overheat as well, but that is at 140W and it will drain itself flat before it overheats so functional.

Just throwing an answer out, the ZMI no20 was the highest capacity one with a lot of functionality I've tested. Some might say that is still a small power bank though while others would say it is too big.

does anyone has the Shargeek Storm 2 (not the slim from this video)? I am torn between that one and Anker 737. I currently have the Anker 737 but sadly its giving me UVP message about too low voltage and the converter DC to DC that I am plugging to that Anker isn't compatible with the chip Anker uses ( I was told that by the DC to DC converter company - was also told that most Anker chargers will do it, and was advised to use different brand).. The SS2 seems to be getting better reviews than the Slim version.. but seeing all the bad on the Slim version.. I have little hopes that the bigger one is indeed any better?

Dont buy from this company. My screen crapped out after a month of light use, so now i have no idea what capacity i have left, and parasitic drain was high. I have attempted to contact shark geek multiple times. They replied initially with instructions to perform a reset, which i did, and screen still buggered. Since that reply and my response advising reset did not fix, many follow ups by me have gone unanswered. I have not been able to instigate any warranty return / exchange / refund, as they simply will not answer. Considering priced as a very premium product in the space - the fact that a) mine broke so early and b) if you do have problem, you have ZERO warranty as they just will not answer if you have problem - do not buy. Their support department is obviously non existent, it is all about sales, sales, sales of what is likely cheap electronics behind flashy marketing and pricing to make you believe it is a PREMIUM product. Will now have to try get consumer affairs onto the case, as well as letting everyone know on as many platforms as i can what they are really like as a company.
@AllThingsOnePlace
@AllThingsOnePlace Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I've looked at a few products from them at this point, they've all been overpriced and very low performance, unfortunately these cheaper products at premium prices are popping up as the norm now. There are practical limits that these companies ignore to market a bigger number.
@zerofrictioncycling992
@zerofrictioncycling992 Жыл бұрын
@@AllThingsOnePlace Yes i think you have hit the nail on the head. I feel i was conned by this one - cheap product dressed up as premium by way of a big price tag, and it is all too easy for companies to buy great reviews from lots of channels (like this). It is getting very hard to discern genuine quality products from industry sharks - i should have known, Shark is even in the company name!! But the fact they can avoid all warranty by just not even replying to issues - it is sad so many channels sell out doing great reviews for dodgy AF companies. Just for fun over coffee breaks here and there i am going to do my bit to make sure as many people know they are a con job - i will keep posting on their insta adds and channels like this until i am sure they will really wish they actioned warranty on mine vs just ghosting & showing who they truly are.

I like my evatronic 60W (same as ravpower), it is small, efficient, basic, but charges and discharges fast enough while staying safe. They don't over sell the power capability which is nice but that is at 20kmah. I haven't tested much above 20kmah and I don't really recommend the Baseus 65W 30kmah.
