This was very much my set of feelings about Biden as I sent the White House a message yesterday asking him why he is siding with one fascist (Netanyahu) which may have the effect of putting another fascist (Trump) back in office. I asked the president if the tradeoff of being “a good ally” to Israel is worth the potential ruination of the US if Trump wins. We do have a diplomatic relationship with Israel; we do not have a diplomatic relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran. However, we do have strong concern for ordinary citizens of both, as well as of Palestine and other nations governed by militant Sunni groups. The "obvious" solution, while easy and satisfying to people who don't understand all that is at stake, is not often the best solution. Biden, by all evidence, is ably managing the tightrope walk that is necessary in this situation. And, as of now, it seems that everybody involved, _except_ Netanyahu, is listening to Biden and taking him seriously. Netanyahu has been a known quantity as long as he's been in politics. He and Putin have certain important things in common; particularly, land that isn't theirs. There are no innocent parties in this action, apart from the ordinary citizens, aka, the victims, but the Sunnis, HAMAS and the Islamic Republic, do seem to be acting with a certain kind of integrity. The same cannot be said of Bibi.
