MICHAEL DAVIS Very good! People in the comments section seem to be wondering why she'd even come on the show if she's so disinterested. Let's be honest - most people wouldn't reject a fairly easy pay day of a few thousand dollars to be on a talk show now-and-again (I'm assuming she earned appearance fees that day?). I'm not sure how she earns her living now-a-days, but getting another decent pay day should be motivation enough. She doesn't necessarily have to be that starved for the money either! That being said, she might have been a little bit more cooperative than she was ALTHOUGH I understand her not wanting to be too bothered in public. Also, she might be the type that doesn't care to continue re-living the past and prefers to look forward. So, I can see her point of view BUT if she agreed to do the show, she should probably be at least a little bit more approachable and cooperative for the talk show's sake, any way. With today's broken families, drugs, road rage, and school shootings the Brady Bunch Family loving style with children with good in them is refreshing. I am a Brady Bunch fan and my favorite episode was with Jan getting the Locket. I also liked Ann B. Davis as the Maid, Alice. Imagine having someone like Alice in ones home who really cared about the Children? I am sure that many of us would also like to see Eve Plumb starring in roles today as well. This was 1995. "The Brady Bunch Movie" came out in February of that year. Sherwood Schwartz, the creator of The Brady Bunch, was one of the producers of that film. In the movie, they really play up the Jan character as the "ugly duckling" and the "black sheep" of the family. It probably really pissed off Eve that her character was turned into a punch line. Eve seemed way more positive about The Brady Bunch prior to the mid-90s, watch her appearance with Barry Williams and Susan Olsen on the MTV show "Remote Control" in 1989 for example. I'm guessing the movie (and its sequel) as well the cast receiving no residuals at all from the show, played a part in Eve's bitterness. I honestly can't say I blame her much either.

Very well said! Reminds me of a recent Bruce Hornsby concert where he felt way above the music that gave him fame in the first place. Its great to grow and mature as an artist but humility and gratitude to those who put you there comes first.

She probably feels like she is more than the Brady bunch but everyone only knows her as that. She probably was type cast and could never escape “Brady bunch” in peoples mind that she learned to resent it and when people asks questions about it she clearly was shutting down every question to do with Brady bunch! I loved her in that role. She was playing a role but the audience was living and finding themselves in her life and she meant so much to so many.

Eve seems to have come around lately and is more accepting of her Brady Bunch past. She has appeared with all her previous co-stars in a sort of reality show regarding the renovation of the old Brady bunch house. She seems to be comfortable now talking about all things Brady these days.

In a way, I can sympathise with Eve Plumb -- she's probably been hearing "Brady Bunch" questions all her life, after playing the role when she was a child. I'd be a little cranky if the only thing anyone ever asked me about was my newspaper route I had when I was 11. On the other hand, why appear on a show like this if she doesn't want to answer questions about the only thing the public knows her from?

The poster of this clip needs to walk in Eve Plumb's shoes. Imagine that you are trying to work as an artist and actress...you make public appearances, and all people want to talk about is what you did thirty-odd years ago. The Brady Bunch has never been off the air, the cast does not get any money from that, and the show hurt many of them that wanted to get other acting jobs because of "typecasting". If Eve is bitter...she is entitled.

This was such a weird interview with Eve. She knew what the topic was. Former child stars. And what is the discussion going to be about. The shows that made these former child stars famous. I think she deliberately answered her questions that way. She wanted the money for the appearance, but wanted people to think she had more things than the Brady Bunch. I bet if you added all her movie and tv credits time up, her entire career wouldn't be more than her first two season on the Brady Bunch. Sad to go onto this type of show and be so rude to the people who were so excited to see her.

@digitalgr8ness5 жыл бұрын
A case of life imitating art. It's actually interesting to watch. She's pretty bitter here. I think it has a lot to do with her still being young during this interview and trying to branch out to find other roles outside of the "Jan Brady" stereotype. It was very difficult for all of them not to be typecast. It's unfair. They were all great actors. I think to her detriment, instead of graciously embracing the fame she gained from that series, she comes off way too abrasive and a bit too self-important in this clip. She actually embodies the whiny little Jan Brady stereotype that she so desperately wanted to escape. I recently saw her on HGTV's "A Very Brady Renovation". I think with age, she's finally come to accept her role and embrace her history with that show. It's tough being young and typecast in Hollywood, especially when you have so much more to offer. I can understand her frustration. She probably did this interview with the intention of getting more exposure. It probably didn't help her.

People are sympathetic towards her for appearing rude or bitter when asked questions about The Brady Bunch. However, she WAS on this talk show for a reason.. and that is because of The Brady Bunch. It is hard as an actor when you are typecast. Still, it is all in the attitude in which you are gracious for even being remembered. For example: Curtis Armstrong, most famously known as Booger from Revenge of the Nerds. He's stated that he knows that that is all that he will be remembered as, and he's like, "Hey! I'm glad they remember me," because he could have been a forgotten member of the supporting cast... like the Judy, Gilbert's love interest. You know... what's her name...

I think she still hated Marcia, even though I think that she actually blossomed to be as pretty as her as she got older. I saw this when it first aired and it has flavored my thoughts of her ever since. I'm glad that she has now lost some of the hard edge and is embracing her past a little more. But this interview was shocking to say the least.

Eve plumb's interviews are the cringe-worthy BEST on KZbin. She has no idea how boring she is when she talks about her current projects, or her art, which is why the interviewer HAS to bring up the Brady Bunch, to keep the audience from going to sleep. I can sympathize with her, but unfortunately, she is just not dynamic enough as a celebrity to shed the "Jan." The Brady Bunch (and her reluctance to it) are the only things that make her complex and interesting.
