I don't understand why they decide to rip apart all the Origin ships one after another. Maybe Drake propaganda?! The 400i is also just useless compared to the direct competition (Corsair & Connie) as its only strength was abundancy of power with its power plants and speed. Also tons of visual bugs like in the 600i there..

It's like that Meme of the parent holding up the child in the pool. The kid being held up is the Hornets (they were already good, but hell, have a MK II). The kid struggling to swim is the Connie's (Good ships, need some final touches and possibly a small rework). The skeleton at the bottom of the pool is undoubtedly the 600i.

They have showed off some 'plans' for the rework that is supposed to be coming but it just never actually goes into production. This is my favorite ship in the game and the one that I hope to make it my home. Love the 600i. Can't wait until she is fixed.

It's clear why this is the case. It took way too long for them to build large ships. So they ended up having to create brand specific ship interior components that are reusable to speed things up a bit. They've started this process with RSI, but they haven't even fully completed the Polaris. The next ship would be the RSI Galaxy. Then they've got about 15 other brands to work through. If the Banu Merchantman finds itself into the game before 2032, I'd be surprised.

Completely agree with pretty much everything in this video. Great job. Only thing I probably differ from you on is the firepower. For it's size, price and compared to most of its competition, I feel like it needs one more S5 mount for x4 S5s total. Also kind of feel like the missile count could do with being doubled (one reload per tube like the Sabre Firebird), but that might be asking too much.

If you want a better list I would say Pioneer, Galaxy, Odyessy, Perseus, Nautilus, Liberator, etc. Point is they have a very large list of already announced ships that people will have no problem paying a premium for, and that doesn't mean they have to stop new ship development either just reduce the number of teams designing brand new ships and reallocate them to fixing up already existing ships

I remember watching your previous review of this ship like 10 times because I had the idea to buy it. Absolutely LOVE the concept of this ship and the views it provides. I have the 600i. It's why I stopped spending on SC!😄The rework, which they're apparently(?) leaving it buggy for, is many years old now and isn't likely to begin for another couple of years. CIG is working on ship families, but Origin is generally focused on exploration & touring which is not in the game. So I don't expect work on Origin until we see these two roles in the game as a working profession.

I've got the touring variant. The captain's bathroom door works. you're right about the ton of bugs and the worst part of my variant is the amount of noise (engine noise) you hear when you step into the middle area (where your variant has cargo lift). They need to give this ship some love!

For a ship built to be a luxury yacht, the 600i has no lateral windows for guests to gaze out on the ship's immediate surroundings from. (See the Phoenix for a good example) The current design has that huge rear skylight lounge, but that vast expanse of glass allows only for a very narrow rear facing view and a lot of empty sky. I'd also like some kind of topside access for the ship, much like you can do with the 890 Jump and the Carrack. Enjoying the view from on top of the 600i would be nice. I know CIG is reluctant to carve any windows into the hull, but they do plan a docking port. So a big moon window as part of that hatch could work.

I get what their design team is aiming for, but the industrial feel of Argo & Drake speak to me :) Great presentation though, as always 👍

Realy love the origin ships, most of them are allrounders (can do a little of everything). But the 2 middle ships (400i and 600i) just need a rework, or a goldpass. Because the 400i is now just a flying luxery motorhome

I love Origin, I have one of most of their ships, My 400i is my daily driver, but my 600i is my flagship, and has been for years. Like most 600i captains, I was excited by the announcement of the rework, but I've been a backer since the Kickstarter, so I never expect to have something until it's in the 'verse.

One of my forever ships. She's so beautiful. I think the rework has been permanently back burnered until exploration gameplay is at least in sight. Origin has widely been forgotten as a brand, and wont get much love any time soon. But I'll never let go of mine, sadly missed out on the BIS paint but grabbed the Fortuna paint earlier this year. Haven't flown her in a while, sad to see it in such a decrepit state, but hopefully they'll push out the rework instead of patching it up

Origin builds beautiful ships, large and spacious, and the sleeping area with the double bed and the huge panoramic window is really great. I've read it and the 890 jump ingame, the latter gave me the creeps...because I got lost inside even more often than I did at the beginning with the reclaimer. and the fuel consumption was really expensive for a trip from new barbage to crusader. As a pledge, i've only owned my dark blue 325a with all the extras (without weapon upgrades) for many years. And the 400i in buyback.

I love hate the "Shamash" which is what I named my 600i Explorer. It is so janky right now and all in all it is a terrible ship in its current state but that rework brings a lot of hope and it does have the nicest kitchen. I love the full refrigerator and big counter top but would love a double oven so I could keep my cooking kosher easier. I also like the engineering section cargo areas because I keep replacement modules in a crate back there for repairs but would prefer them as shielded cargo sections. Shielded cargo doesn't mean I am Smuggling. It just means I don't want everyone to know what I have aboard. I have a 600i. I am rich enough to have some privacy.

You can access the remote turrets, but the access button is way off the terminal screen, so look for the button on the side, outside of it (usually left)

It looks like if cig needs more room safe to give a med Bender small med Bay to the touring version of the 600 that they could push back the upper area over the engines a little farther. Personally I would like it if the armor underneath the Captain's quarters in the front didn't stick out so far. Either pull the armor back or push the cockpit in the Captain's quarters forward. I also think that the rear landing gear rather than running side to side should run front to back on the ship but that's again just me personally.

This was the perfect timing for this review for me. I am looking to complete the CCU chain to this ship this IAE but I still debate if I should just get up to the Carrack instead. I feel like the negatives will be fixed in the rework and the price will go up. Good thing is that I can always upgrade to the Carrack if the 600i Explorer doesn't work out.

The elevators also have holes in them - the outside/port wall can be walked through, dropping you outside. The cargo grid says 44, but there are actually 54 slots on the grids (24 in the vehicle bay plus 30 in the back...15 each side) so I'm not sure why some of the grid is not counted.

Thanks for forestalling disappointment, it seems I’ve left that ship in the corner for so much of its life, all that time back from Levski with vehicles falling through the floor, it seems like years before that was fixed and I took joy in it again. Now indeed falling apart, though I’ll try a trick I saw for the Starlancer dismounting turret weapons enabling more power to main weps, especially now they’re gimballed 5s I don’t want to think about the rework because I don’t think it will be soon, so potentially a love, but again to think is to sigh.

This ship and all the luxury ships, need a subset of missions called transport or space Uber or something where you get paid to taxi npcs around the verse, VIPs could have specific ship requirements for higher payout. Kinda like elite dangerous did

The rework has been silent since Jan 2022, and I read a while ago that the Origin ship crew moved on from CIG so that line of ships is on hold. Flew it the last free fly event and just loved the luxury Origin interior. But i think it had the better p/y/r stats back then bc it flew somewhat acceptable and for me was just a tiny bit behind the Connie. The rework was announced and plans shown almost 3 years ago now. We need a serious finish the 600i campaign to push CIG to finish the rework. They sold a lot of these based on the plans for the rework

I wonder how my 600i will stack up in 4.0. It better also get PDCs if the Connies are getting them. I do love the Connies, but they are partially unfinished inside. As a 600i owner, I'm highly to say that the ship in it's current form doesn't deserve anything higher than a 3/10. The ship has the worst handling of anything it's size and the rework, which i believe was being led by Paul Jones, isn't going to happen any time soon. CIG already have backers money, they done feel like they need to fix it.

I have this ship, and love it… However, the last few patches have really killed its charm for me with the graphical glitches and other bugs. I have been back and forth with upgrading to an Odyssey since exploring has my heart. But I know when the 600i gets a gold patch I’ll miss it.

Last update ( some enticing photos to get us all excited) of the 600i was in 2022 and zero updates since. Next worry is if the CIG ships team(s) are full of inexperienced ( and maybe not very good) devs and the decent ones i.e. the ones which were working on thee BMM are long gone. I mean the back of the 600i is badly designed and thrown together so anything is an improvement but the recent Intrepid and the not yet finished but released Polaris are not good omens.

I love your passion for the ship but it’s gone down hill, I can’t just make graphical issues occur… When it comes to the cargo plating in small rooms, it would be almost impossible to truly stock it with SCU containers, or a massive struggle… Which I’m sure the rework of the ship will fix, don’t get me wrong. It’s an amazing ship and has great views. There’s just a lot of problems right now with most origin ships.

Oh man its a tossup on the 600i and starlancer TAC for me if 600 gets a big pass done on it. Its super outdated but a very good looking interior. Elevators are molasis slow. The new armory, cargo bay and nova tank storage and size 2 medbed that will be added will be amazing looking at the concept art on the page. 600i was my OG pledge but i just couldnt hold onto it. Updates and gamestate keep making it more obsolete
