good reaction. I took it as the family in the glass house represented the judgmental people who live in their privilege bubble in society. The first one's to shun the poor man or abortion and not care or want to know anything about what they've been through, but shame people. Yet they never went through the adversity or care to know because of the bubble or privileged lives they lived, that kept them away from the various adversities of life. There are many celebrities who grew up poor or went through tough things, but makes me think of how some celebrities don't get what the struggles of common person.

It's about empathy. If we all can't get our collective heads around this we all all doomed.

Not really, is more about not judging people cause it's so easy to judge someone without knowing their story, how they got to the point where they are now and we shouldn't look down on people just because we're not going through what they're going through. We could try to emphasize or understand they're situations even if you're not going through what they're going through. We all trying our best to make it in this fucked up world. Some people are just more fortunate then others and that's ok. As long you're trying in some way to make to another day that's all that matters.

One of the most powerful songs I've ever heard 💔 That perfect family? It doesn't exist. EVERYONE has trauma, problems and issues. Nobody is perfect, try to remember that the next time you look at another person.

"You know where it ends....Yo, it usually depends on where you start." - When I hear this line I interpret it as "we know where it ends", The only ending we all know is for certain for all of us is death. It is the only thing we can all say we know how it ends. Life ends with death. So how we live that life usually depends on where you start. If you are born with privilege and opportunity, you may never know the trauma and troubles others may have to struggle with daily. The whole song is about not judging others and trying to understand that everyone's circumstances are different. Even the perfect family everyone is watching. Should we begrudge them that happiness as much as we might envy it? No, but we also cannot turn a blind eye to the world around us and while we may not understand or agree with the decisions others might have made, we should still show respect and compassion, because we do not know what may have brought them to where they are in life.

I'm pretty sure it means it's hard to climb to the top when you are born under a ton of garbage. You know, that kind of thing.

I love the truth in this song in this political world of demanding politically correct language, while we ignore the actual social injustices. This is the most honest music I've heard since the 70's and 80's.

I thought the same thing about the "perfect" /"happy" family as well. Then I realized I was doing the same thing that the song is warning you about. Judging a book by its cover.

Bingo!!!!! In 12 step programs and others they always caution about judging others....I’ve found this to be one of the hardest things ever to do.... First thing I want to do is size someone up.

What I get from the song is how perfect American family is impossible dream. It's something put on a display case&used to lured in foolish dreamers to try to buy into.that's my take.i saw this video when I was a teen&already know whole American dreams is mostly lies.

This is the man that Eminem, YEARS ago back when Em was just starting shit with *everybody* like 18 years ago made the diss Quitter because he (this singer) had quit being a rapper to make songs like this... the singer of Everlast, Whitey Ford, was in House of Pain, Rhyme Syndicate, Soul Assassins, and a few other groups... he used to do things with Tupac, LL Cool J, Notorious B.I.G. etc. Whitey was from that Era of rap where rappers were literally killing each other on the streets over saying the wrong crap in songs. When Em dissed him he was 6'6" and 215lbs of solid muscle even in his 40s... a lot of young kids now listen to the 'diss war' the two had, and say Eminem Won (This was back when Eminem was still a junkie, just screaming angry crap on a microphone, and not the beautiful artist he has become).... and honestly it's because they're blinded by what Eminem has become in the decade and a half SINCE these two dissed each other back and forth - from a girl that's a bit older than most of the reaction kids, and remember when Eminem was _NEW_ ... Whitey Ford literally picked apart every single little piece of Eminem in his response track and every single bar was flat truth. It was bad enough that Eminem's reply song to it he had to get *all* his friends on the track, and he literally just screamed at Whitey like an angry teenager for 3 minutes. Whitey actually said in his 'response' to Eminem's diss in a track called 'Whitey's Revenge': "...You punk ecstasy junkie, you _waste of skills_ , stop riding my tails..." (aka you've got so much skill and you're wasting it, don't try to use me to get famous kid) He even said in an interview just a couple of years ago when asked about the old old beef with Eminem what his _real_ problem with Eminem was back then (he's the one who caught an assault charge AGAINST Eminem by slapping him outside a concert hard enough it left Em with a black eye, bruised cheek, and a busted lip (Whitey has some big hands) after the whole 'diss track' back and forth... then again diss tracks meant something different back when Whitey was a rapper... in his younger days Whitey Ford had 12 criminal charges... 2 for gun possession and 10 assault charges, and in his original diss of Whitey Eminem _did_ say he would kick Whitey's ass or smack him down with an empty gun. But when the interviewer asked he said his biggest problem with Eminem (Em and Whitey now get along just fine) was just like Dre he saw a ton of Talent in Eminem, but he was completely wasting them by being a pill junkie... and he always had rhymes about his friend Proof that died (Eminem did), but that getting so far screwed up on pills and becoming a junkie wasn't how you honor the man who helped you get through your child hood, get into hip hop, and helped you start your career... so he felt that Eminem was just a fake, punk junkie that was using the name of a dead rapper and friend to excuse his drug use.

You missed the meaning of the song. It's about our lack of free will and the need for empathy and compassion. Nobody makes themselves or controls the events of their life.
Always like this song from back in the day, but it goes the same way around, why judge the white family having a good time don't know what they went through when they were younger who knows. Can't just assume, maybe they finally just made their lick.

It's very difficult to enjoy a tune when you interrupt every 2.6 seconds to tell us what you think. Here's a friendly suggestion...hold that thought until the song is over and we can absorb it even just a little. Then feel free to talk as long as you like. 1 star
