A personal theory i had for the Shiny Golurk line was that the shiny is their original colors before exposure to the elements turned them blue. Further backed up by the fact that the light clay they drop is the same color as their shinies glowing parts.

Whimsicott looks more like a sheep now, and I think I remember in one of your earlier videos you mentioned a legendary Celtic cotton tree that grew sheep instead of cotton. Also, Sawk and Throh were meant to embody the "Red Oni, Blue Oni" trope, hence why they're marketed as opposites. There's also Elgyem and Beheeyem, who have different colored fingers for reasons. The Lillipup line also looks more like golden retrievers.

Even if color was expensive, normal people had good clothes with some color on it, not ragged pieces of fabric stained with mud, as they're usually depicted in medieval representations nowadays. Purple, pink and blue were indeed the most expensive colors there was, but many knights used them to decorate their coat of arms and tabards (or other pieces of clothe on top of the armor)

Fun fact, the Stoutland lines’ slight color alterations in Herdier seem to more resemble a Silky Terrier, which has a less saturated looking coat compared to a Yorky. Stoutland’s more orange mustache makes its colors more like a Welsh Terrier, who have very bright orange/rust fur. Lilpup might be made more wheaten so it looks more like a light colored Cairn Terrier (Toto dog)

Pokémon shinies didn’t get intentionally designed until gen 6, so the gen 1-5 Pokémon just have randomly generated colours depending on what the original colour was. So this video isn’t technically true but it was still entertaining.

Purrloin's shiny could possibly be a reference to the Russian Blue breed of cat, their coats are the sort of grayish-blue that Purrloin's shiny is. Its eyes also resemble a very common eye color in cats. Don't know where the purple "eyebrows" came from though.

Tidbit about Woobat and Swoobat's shinies, actually! The two are likely inspired from the Honduran white bat, a species that hides in leaves. Even though their fur is white-blue like normal Woobat and Swoobat, when light shines through the leaves they hide under, it makes the bats look yellowish green, much like the shinies!
