Corrections! Chiron describes the emetic Zeus gave to Kronos as being made of mustard and wine in _The Lightning Thief,_ but Percy claims in _Percy Jackson's Greek Gods_ that it actually was made of mustard and nectar, as wine would not be invented until after the Titan War and the birth of Dionysus. I took a bit of creative liberty when describing Tantalus's punishment. In the books, Tantalus was cast into the Fields of Punishment, not Tartarus. I chose to say he was cast into Tartarus because that's how the traditional Greek legend goes, and I figured that would be more immediately familiar to the uninitiated. Nico's last name is di Angelo, not d'Angelo. I always get those two mixed up, and never remember to check. It seems there's a lot of confusion surrounding my statement that "No human had ever gone into Tartarus and lived until Nico di Angelo." To be clear, I am aware that Percy, Annabeth, and later Will Solace all survived Tartarus as well. My intent with that statement wasn't to say that Nico was the _only_ person to go into Tartarus and live, but that he was the _first,_ and that first came later in the timeline. Hence my use of the word "until". I forgot to sin the movie for cutting the part where Tyson gets an internship working at Poseidon's underwater forges. Have no idea how that slipped past me, considering that it's basically the same sin as cutting out Grover leaving camp to search for Pan, which I not only sinned in the first video, but also quoted in this one.

21:55 Poseidon never owned the sword. It belonged to Zoe, the daughter of Atlas. She gave it to Heracles and then it somehow ended up in Chiron's hands a few millennia later, probably given to him by Heracles, since Chiron taught him (though that last bit is never mentioned in the book, so it's just a theory). Fun fact about Nico's name, since it is Italian, the full name could be translated as Son of an/the Angel or Angel's Son.

Kronos coming back on the second book is actually the singular worst thing ever done. Grover as the comedian? Sure, Clarisse being slim? Fine, Tyson completely out of character? Why not. But making the final boss appear on the second movie, when the 5th book was basically the fight on it's entirity, being the most grandiose event in all 5 books is absolutely outrageous, insane, and someone has to pay jail time for it. What would they have done if they had more movies? Like, it's literally unthinkable and that deserves at least 500 sins.

I don’t understand why every Hollywood movie thinks Kronos needs to be some large fiery satan looking monster. Kronos is depicted as a fiery Satan like figure because he is the bad guy in Greek mythology who castrated and deposed his father as well as tried to eat all his children the future Olympians to prevent his own usurpation. Though to be fair to him during his rule life was perfect and in harmony.
@DarthMolgy

I just imagine him as DIO Brando (or his Heaven Ascension variant from JoJo Eyes of Heaven). The ironic thing about that is that Kronos being the Lord of Time was a major error in the books; the god/primordial being of Time in Greek mythology is *Chronos,* a completely unrelated deity to Kronos (who's mostly associated with Harvest because of his scythe).

The reason people were mad about changing the age of the prophecy was probably because the story of PJO is the story of children aging and maturing. A 16-year-old turning 20 does not have the same impact as a 12-year-old turning 16.

Yeah, but the movie characters were already older than the book characters by the time the movie version of the Great Prophecy came out. If the prophecy was the exact same as in the books (in a scenario where the movies were faithful to the books in ever regard aside from the characters’ ages), it would mean that Percy wouldn’t be the one to hand Luke the cursed blade, because he didn’t “reach sixteen against all odds”. He would have to “reach twenty against all odds”.

Carsickness also makes more sense - Tyson is a son of Posiden. I know it's a thing in the books that at least children of the Big Three tend to developed ironic fears like Nico's fear of the dark, Thalia's fear of heights and Percy's fear of drowning, but why would a son of the sea god get seasick? Tyson being coded with a cognitive disability is actually very important imo. So is both Percy's and Annabeth's development regarding him. Both their misgivings about him turn out to be unfounded, they feel bad about judging him and he becomes a valued friend. I mean, how many children's books do you know where someone like Tyson is portrayed in such a positive light? Sure, he has less screentime in later books, but his impact is always felt through things like Percy's watch shield. All in all, Tyson is one of my favourite characters and just making him the dumb, clumsy one is such a waste!

In other worse book series you have disabled characters that are seen as monstrous or untrustworthy or unpleasant to be around. There is a sense of judgement there. another sin: everyone would’ve been immediately vaporised once kronos resurrected- like, mortals are vaporised in the presence of a titan’s true form, immediately- unlike gods where it’s upon sight- it’s part of the entire reason that everyone was so very in a rush at the end of the last olympian, because kronos was powerful enough to transform into his true form, which would have vaporised any mortal in his presence- and they basically deleted everyone’s personalities- (including how part of the book featured percy discovering his fatal flaw-) …these movies are _so_ bad.

I could be wrong, but I think Percy finds out his fatal flaw in The Titan’s Curse when Athena flat out tells Percy his fatal flaw is loyalty. I know the conversations about everyone having a fatal flaw is in Sea of Monsters after the encounter with the Siren’s Island (Annabeth tells Percy her fatal flaw is hubris, which Percy confuses with hummus), but I don’t think Percy knows exactly what it is until the third book. Again, I could be wrong.

This is what happens when you pander to an audience that wrote your movie off as a loser cause and alienate whatever audience you have left. Continuing from Lightning Thief in an organic fashion and maybe only loosely adapting Sea of Monsters would’ve been far better. At least the Lightning Thief film could work as a reasonable standalone movie due to it being that far from the source.

Man can you imagine how hard they would have FU Nico and Bianca Di Angelo if they continued? Nico and Tyson are among the characters I love the most in these 5 books, so with Tyson they did an horrible job and thank god they didn't have time to mess up Nico. When they’re all around Thalia’s tree at the start, you can see everyone wearing blue. THE OPPOSITE OF ORANGE ON THE LIGHT SPECTRUM!! That’s the closest this movie chose to get to a camp uniform of sorts was having everyone in blue around the tree. Which is also an discontinuity because earlier in the games, you can see everyone wearing a rainbow of bright colors. And it’s the same day because Annabeth is wearing the same as outfit.
