In 2017, the Eagles went 13-3 winning the NFC East and clinching a 1st-round bye. In the first 13 games, Carson Wentz passed for 3,296 yards and 33 TDs. By that point, he was favored to win NFL MVP. Unfortunately, Wentz suffered a torn ACL and was out for the rest of the year leaving Nick Foles to take over. The Eagles would go on to win Super Bowl 52 against the Patriots, first in franchise history. A lot of people gave credit to Nick Foles, but the team wouldn’t have gotten that far without Carson Wentz. The next year, Carson Wentz got injured, and Foles took over once again. Although the Eagles were 5-6 at the time; Wentz was still having a good year passing for 3,074 yards and 21 TDs completing almost 70% of his passes. However, the Eagles won 4 of the last 5 games under Nick Foles to clinch a Wild Card spot in the playoffs. In the last two years in phily, Carson Wentz was healthy and won the NFC East in 2019. Last year, the Eagles were plagued with injuries, and he was one of two starters left from their original depth chart at the start of the season. Once players started coming back, they were expecting immediate success, but it didn't happen. They need time to get back in sync, but instead, they benched him for Jalen Hurts. I don't think it's fair to call Carson Wentz "a one-year wonder".
@youraveragejoessportsnetwo5533 жыл бұрын
@Willy Brown The Eagles offensive line could never stay healthy. Jason Peters has played only one full year since 2017. 2017, Peters played 7 games. Last year, 8 games. Lane Johnson hasn’t played a full 16 game season since 2015.

Sayin a guy who has only played 2 years in the NFL is a one year wonder is a woeful overstatement. Especially when you consider he was playing for a team purposefully trying to tank, and was still playing well despite that fact. Minshew's overall numbers may not look as good in his second season, but that is due to injury, and had he played a full season his stats were on pace to be similar to his rookie year. Though it seems no matter how good Minshew plays, because he was a late round pick with non ideal size and arm strength, teams and media can't shake thier bias against him. Watch the tape and there are very few flaws, even his supposedly weak arm never comes into play because his timing, and accuracy on deep passes is so good, and on short throws he actually has a considerable amount of zip.

Infuriates you? Why? This is legitimate question, i’m not attacking you. Like are you infuriated because Tebow got a raw deal even though you know he wouldn’t have taken Denver to two Super Bowls? Or are you mad because you think that he got a raw deal *and* that he would have taken the Broncos to two Super Bowls? I’m sincerely interested? Cheers.

@@loosecrash Mostly the fact that Elway promised to build a team around him and then screwed him over. Tebow was an unorthodox QB, but he had heart and I think he could have been something great. Don't get me wrong, Manning was great and 2013 was an offensive season like none other, but in the long run, I do think Tebow may have been better for the franchise.

@@DavidKrappenshidtz gotcha. I just wanted to hear your opinions. Thanks bro; I’m a Broncos fan as well and I just like hearing what other Denver fans have to say. I know this sounds like a lameass take but I loved every season with PFM (even the ones that ended with gut punches), but I also cherish that 2011 Tebow season. It was as entertaining and emotional as a football season could be for us fans. p.s. I’ll still never forget watching Timmy wearing his green tie in his first press conference as a NY Jet. Threw up in my mouth a little. Go Broncos!

I would have chosen Jim Harbaugh instead of Phillip Rivers for the Colts. He had a solid year in 95 , leading Indy to the Conference Championship game , then after winning the first 4 games in 96 , the Colts struggled the rest of the season. Totally collapsing in 97 , to earn the right to pick Peyton.

Yes Jeff George had a good season for my Raiders in 97. But in 1998 season he was always getting hurt. Backup quarterback Donald Hollis was the quarterback for the rest of the season. The Raiders finished the season 8-8. When the Raiders were starting the season 6-2. Rich Gannon didn't to the Raiders till 99.
