Welcome to yet another part of my SpongeBob project! I plan on reviewing every SpongeBob episode ever, to determine which episodes and seasons are good, and which are pure ScumBob. In this video I review all 29 episodes in the second half of season 9, which includes giving fun facts, highlights, quotes, and a definitive answer as to whether I find it Good, Meh, or ScumBob. In addition, I give some general notes, stats, and facts. It's a long ride, so pull up a barrel and come find out the whole tooth.

Things that I liked about Season 9B: 1. SpongeBob's ignorance/stupidity was toned down a bit. Whenever they focused on his ignorance, it's usually just for a joke (with it harming nobody). 2. Patrick is far less annoying, with his stupidity actually seeming as if it is genuine. 3. Squidward is rarely ever tortured for no reason. It always seems to be warranted whenever something bad happens to him. 4. The stories are actually fun to watch. 5. There are episodes that revolve around Mr. Krabs that don't involve money. He is seriously a strong/likable character when he isn't doing illegal things, or talks about things that don't involve cash.

Seeing Spongebob gradually improving, with Season 8 being decent, 9 being good (imo) and 10 possibly being even better just warms my heart. ^^ Patrick's back to normal, we're getting episodes centered around more characters than just Spongebob and the overall feel of the episodes is very Seasons 1-3 esk. Welcome back Spongebob. I'm ready for more fun! :D

"Lost in bikini bottom" has a special spot in my heart. I'm from Mexico, so i watch the show in spanish, besides the quality of the show declining (since season 5, imo) they also changed voice actors (mr. krabs and patrick's being the worst changes). In this episode the original latinamerican voice actor for Mr. Krabs returned to take the character... it was so great.

I actually loved Food Con Castaways, and felt the first half was the single most consistently funny segment of season 9B as a whole (Squidward's complete empathy at the beginning, the 'road trip' fireworks really being fumes from the engine, SB and Pat wanting to stop at every landmark that gets advertised, etc). And even when they do get to the actual plot, I get why you felt the plot felt too "been there, done that" but I think the scenery and expressions really helped make it stand out IMO.

This video more than anything shows why I personally enjoy watching PIEGUYRULZ reviewing cartoons instead of Mr.Enter. Pieguy genuinely looks for pros and cons, doesn't get overly dramatic and doesn't yell at the top of his lungs. He keeps things focused and also doesn't swear. In a day and age where so many KZbinrs shout and swear constantly, this is really refreshing.

I put it this way. seasons 1-5a were the golden age of SpongeBob. After "Atlantis Squarepantis", it went to the dark ages of SpongeBob. But what I think possibly started the Renaissance is "It's A SpongeBob Christmas".

@@NoahTheAmbitious yes, we had it back when we were kids and it ended in a stalemate because neither of us could convince the other because "there wasn't canon evidence" (even though I think the creator of the show saying "Squidward is an octopus" is pretty canon). Then I was watching Spongebob a decade later because I never stopped enjoying it and "I'm an Octopus" triggered that memory. I sent him the clip, said "boom, undeniable proof, Squidward is an octopus, I was right, you were wrong."

Love the fact that you weren't biased towards the show in this review. In fact, in general PieGuy hardly seems biased in a majority of his reviews. I liked that entertaining final skit, and I must say you did a marvelous job with this addition. This is a video I've looked forward to since around late 2015, so I must say I am satisfied with the content of this video. Can't wait to see your Season 10 edition (Especially since Season 10 is probably going to be finished by the fall, considering the fact that Season 11 is premiering in June).

Like I said in the Season 8 video, I was surprised at the outcome! Finally after like 4 and 1/2 Seasons, even though this is half of a Season, I was happy to see this half being good. Because there was only a select few episodes at this time period that I watched, this told me that if I catch up on this half season, I will, hopefully, be satisfied. And no, it's not because I lost faith in this series, I just have a pretty tight schedule to be able to watch an 11 minute cartoon on the cable where I live.

I have to say, this season half impressed me. When it talks about things that have arguments, it displays both sides fairly. Which is impressive because a lot of things, prior seasons of Spongebob included as Pieguy mentioned, show one side of the argument and dont talk about both sides.

My thoughts on SpongeBob 1999-2004 (Seasons 1-3) = Golden Age 2005-2007 (Season 4) = Silver Age 2007 (Season 5) = Bronze Age 2008-2011 (Seasons 6/7) = Dark Age 2011-2014 (Seasons 8/9A) = Slow Recovery but not yet Renaissance Age ?? 2015-now (Seasons 9B/10) = Renisannance Age Good review overall. I'm glad to see that the post sequel things are finally getting on track. I don't know if I would say that Season 9 is exactly as good as Seasons 1,2,3, or even 4, but then again, I haven't really watched the new episode's lately. I'd probably put Season 9 on track with Season 5 as a mostly hidden gem season. (Though 5 was a lot more hit or miss).

The only episode I saw of this half season was the one with the Fonz, which I actually enjoyed, but yeah I agree I wish there were much treats on the show, especially with Sharks, one of the scariest water animals.

The Executive Treatment and Squid Plus One are a couple of my favorite episodes because I love to quote Squid Plus One when Squidward screams at Spongebob. "I found a jump rope." "I SAID NOT TO TELL ME!" That just feels iconic

I think spongebobs golden age was with seasons 1-3 but even so there were bad episodes. the perfect golden age rather comes from a gathering of all the good episodes from those seasons as there own. the medicore era comes from seasons 4 and 5. the dark age is seasons 6 and 7 and the recovery age is seasons 8 and 9 which brought spongebob back to a medicore state

Season 4 and even Season 5 were good IMO; I think the idea that Spongebob "fell off" immediately after the movie is somewhat of a myth. Yes, there were more bad episodes after 2004 (and I mean really bad), but we got some great episodes during that era too. 2008-2013 was a very dark era for Spongebob, especially 2008-2011.

I'm absolutely safe to say that I really enjoyed To hear that you like episodes that I like such as "Squid Plus One" and "The Whole Tooth" and dislike episodes I don't like like "Company Picnic" and "Mutiny in the Krusty Krab", and Finally! Somebody who loves "Bulletin Board"! :D Although I must say that you made one error: You already used the Scumbob pictures of "Sanctuary!" and "The Fish Bowl" BEFORE you announced that they are scumbobs. It actually kinda spoiled to me what are gonna be your final thoughts on these 2 episodes...
