I had two photo finishes Kyle Busch: well i finished backwards Clint Bowyer: *laughs in finishing upside down and on fire after flipping back onto his tires* Ryan Newman: *laughs in getting spun into the wall, hitting the wall at a high speed and velocity, flipping upside down, getting hit in the driver door, doing a barrel roll in the air, landing on his roof, skidding several yards as fuel leaks from his car while a fire starts near the fuel* Michael Waltrip and Dale Earnhardt Jr.: *quietly sip their beers as they remember winning both Daytona races and finishing 1-2 driving for DEI in the same year that Dale Sr died*

@bryan_vlogs8823 4 жыл бұрын
I know. The Austin Dillon wreck looked worse than this wreck. When Newman's wreck came to rest, I've thought he was ok. They just needed to turn around the car and he will get out like talladega 2009. But they had to cut him out of the car and take him to the hospital. But I think that the two crashes are very scary.

BryanVlogs Dillon wasn’t hit on the driver side door like Newman. Sure Dillon lost both the back and front end of his car, but being hit in the driver side door, upside down, at 150-180 mph can instantly kill someone had it not been for the cages on the car. Newman’s was worse for a Person, Dillon’s was worse for the Car.

They're equal when it comes to how bad they were but if you're talking about driver safety, after the second hit you could tell newman's roll cage was compromised. The front and back were floppy and you never see that happen in a nonfatal wreck except michael waltrip at bristol but that's completely a different story.

Weird how Ryan’s crash is likely the last shared memory anyone has of normal life prior to the madness we’ve seen since Mar ‘20. To this day I can’t see this crash without getting maybe the most deepest rooted feeling of nausea I’ve ever experienced. Newman has always been one of my favorite NASCAR drivers since he started in the #12 Alltel car for Roger Penske. The instant I saw his inverted car hit, catching Ryan just behind the driver’s side B-post, or basically right behind Ryan’s left ear - I thought I had watched him be killed. If I had been standing I’d have likely gone to my knees. Seeing this it feels like yesterday. Thanks for putting in the effort, and time, to edit this together! I don’t think I will ever forget that crash, or how it seems like everybody’s last “normal memory”. But it’s great to have it all compiled here like this. Pretty awesome that Ryan noticed it too, and that it helped him put together what had happened. Thanks again! Brilliant job on this! 👍🏼

So let me make this clear for you Your car is in the Top 3 of the Daytona 500, that's a big deal It's the final lap, and the leader just spun, and the car that spun said leader lost momentum, theres the win right there. I think Hamlin crossed the line moments before the big hit, so the crew was already going crazy. No one is looking at the track, they are giving their congratulations to each other. I'm sure they felt devastated as soon as they saw the replay

I'm sorry man, but I teared up watching this. I teared up as the wreck happened and I will never look at the wreck differently. It shocked me then and it still amazes me. To think that Newman survived that after the impact he had is beyond us. To hear how silent and shocked the stands went after the wreck is frightening. I guess the bright side is that Newman is alive and the racing community doesn't have to endure another passing. Hope this sparks continued discussion for safety and how racing should be looked at again.

When talking about the history of NASCAR and Austin Dillon’s crash into the catch fence, someone said that if he was mere inches further to the right, the crash could’ve been much worse. That’s what makes NASCAR so dangerous, mere inches could save or end a life.

Thank God for the safety advances in the race world. As a first responder I’ve seen it in regular vehicles too. We say cars now are throw away and they are. Bit the safety built-in that you can see under the worst of circumstances where people come our in way better shape than you would think they should is as never before. Now at the speeds THESE cars are going... just unbelievable. God speed Ryan.

Although this happened 2 years ago, this is still the worst crash I have ever witnessed on live television, I was just about to burst into tears once I saw the replays of the crash, after that, I had gained a lot of respect on Ryan and he became one of my favorite drivers, to this day, my mind is still boggled that he only suffered a bruised brain from this wreck, I honestly thought he had multiple serious injuries once I saw this wreck for the first time, it just shows you have safe these cars are, and how NASCAR really put a lot of work in these cars to keep fatalities from happening. God... that night I will definitely never forget.

A few things: Damn they were flying! Hamlin's on-board made it feel like the video was being played at 1.25 or 1.5x. Also, Denny Hamlin was really close to getting into the wreck. You can see it by the change in pressure on the hood and its effect on the cowl flaps. Right after that, Blaney did a great job hanging onto the car through the tri-oval while battling Hamlin.

The second hit was the complete opposite everyone who could see it clearly went quiet and scared, I cant imagine how impact-full on everyone brains this would be watching it on live tv, let alone on the track. Yep, I hope every single pit crew member is not on any team in nascar currently, you can argue that Hamlin didn’t know when he was celebrating, but that fact that you have a front row seat and see a crash right before your eyes that should have been fatal and decide to celebrate, hell man that pisses me off.
