Thank you for the video. could you suggest which video should i refer to 'How to handle Contempt' ? During initial phase of my relationship (first 2 years) ,she indeed makes me feel invalidated and makes me feel stupid. And, it was really hurtful. (eye rolling, and feeling of disgust). Was able to find courage to talk about it ,after 4 years into relationship. She said sorry, she didnt want to make me feel that way. She acknowledged it. however, she does get angry sometimes, speak in loud tone, etc. how do i navigate and tell her, if I am asking her to speak in light tone, or watch her tone, or dont speak harsh words to me... its not about I dont accept her. (She feels I used to accept her as-is, but now as I have started expressing things which hurts me, or i would like to change, she acts confused, surprised like why now? and you were so accepting at that time, i need that old version, etc?) how do i navigate this. any workbook or other video I can use? thanks!

What about when one partner blames the other for not calling the electrician and it becomes a 2 hour argument when a perfectly acceptable solution might instead be to say “whoops! We forgot to call the electrician. Let’s do that now, right away, while we’re thinking about it…” (before it starts an argument). Some cases don’t require blame, and assigning responsibility for a problem, even appropriately to the person who may have been designated in charge of that activity, by haranguing them with shame for hours when the issue could be solved with a 10 minute phone call in-the-moment might indicate deeper problems, right?

I work 5 days per week, 1 day of freelance and my Sunday is University work... My wife worked 3 days in 10 months... I am so exhausted and starving because she won't cook, and she won't let me use the kitchen because I "make too much of a mess"... I am so hungry and tired, I would love a weekend off and nice home cooked meal, I'd be blown away with a nicely grilled piece of chicken and vegetables... I'm not picky but I wish my wife would cook, I'm so hungry... I found this video on my ride home on the train knowing I'll be going to bed starving, and it's only Monday night.

Grow a pair. Tell her you’re using the kitchen whether she likes it or not , and clean up afterwards. Surely, if you’re that hungry , you can buy a snack also , on the way home. If you’re ‘ not allowed’ - separate .

@@taraalan1131 tried that and she throws things like cans, pots, coffee mugs and knives at me when she has one of her meltdowns.

@@puscifer99 I suppose if you retaliated she’d call the Police ? I’d try to find a place to rent . That’s not a life .Abuse of men , physically and mentally has become common in our society nowadays, unfortunately. Are there no family you could confide in ? I’d secretly seek advice and help, even from an agency.

@@taraalan1131 that is entirely the issue. I cannot do anything because noone is on my side. I am married to a volatile wife, she refuses help and anything I do to "man up" wont result well for me. I am no means saying I am perfect, but I am willing to go to counseling but my wife isn't because she think I am the problem for her moods. It's a partnership and I can only do what I am willing to do and can't force a person to change.
