I just want ya to know that the thing about Oda that always surprises me most beside is self destruct work ethic is how characters introduced in episode 151 will still be important literally 1000 episodes later... and so you know the anime is not 1000 episodes ahead yet; but my point is the elders still impact the story... and there just old dudes. political power sure but not exactly the warrior types in look beside Samurai Gahndi as was my fave nick name for the one dude that chapter reviewers came up with. Mihawk being another example you just know that Oda is not going to waste a character... I mean Shanks is all I need to say and regardless of how far a watcher is they can agree.

160 166 172 178 184 190 196 I think the 6 episode split will work out even better this arc than normal As 196 is just after the last episode of the arc and the one back story takes up one vid almost entirely if I am remembering episode counts correctly. Actually surprised how well it works I expect nothing less from one of my top 3 arcs.

One Piece has some amazing character writing, I’m always blown away by the little things. The way the characters lie and bluff and hide their intentions, but not in an ‘ooh, big reveal’ kind of way, just the way that normal people do, and how they can blow you away by doing something unexpected but completely in character. Like Usopp being completely ok with creepy crawlies and Sanji being afraid of them, it’s unexpected but also makes sense. Or even the way Usopp’s deep love for the going Merry is really shown again and again and not just ‘oh yeah, he cares about the boat’ being said aloud every so often, or the way Luffy is instantly mad at Bellamy without them saying ‘oh I’m going to do something about it’. They don’t need to say it.

Honestly the sequence where they ride the knock up stream and their ship flies up to the sky gives me chills no matter how many times I watch it! It is a stunning visual that outdoes anything I can think of in any other Anime due to the sheer imagination and sense of adventure it gives! Is it just me or does anyone else think so too?

In case no one's told you, the 5 'elder stars' is a bit of a mistranslation. They're really the 5 elder planets! Just in case also Whitebeard is awesome!

Yeah I gotta agree with everyone else here. Why is Blackbeard’s introduction glossed over? Did you forget he’s the guy who attacked drum kingdom, the guy that Ace is looking for because he killed a fellow member on Whitebeard’s crew, and the guy trying to become a warlord? It also seemed like you forgot that Whitebeard is Ace’s captain.

to be fair he probably forgot even i forgot about this on my first watch through and im sure u did too, black beard isnt really talked about a lot and is more placed as a background character until this very moment where we actually see him, ace never really mentions him and whenever he talks about black beard he just says "im searching for someone", even in drum island we kinda completely forget that black beard had been the one to kick out the drum king because the emphasis is more on chopper and the conflict thats happening, also one piece has so many characters that not everyone can remember all of them unless you've watched the entire show a second time or third time like i have, or seen even the smallest details without forgetting

I can understand Anime Wins forgetting about Blackbeard because he doesn't really stand out until episode 325 but remember guys no spoilers I don't think Anime Wins has reached there with his personal viewing yet although I think he mentioned he is about 50 episodes ahead of whatever Anime Wins episodes he is airing.

From this point onwards the fandom term for being taken out embarrassingly quick (especially with one hit) is to be 'Bellamied' You have a lot of faces to remember in the long run, warlords, Sengoku, world leaders, Whitebeard, and the Blackbeard Pirates. Enter Skypeia, and a vast array of its own personal worldbuilding; island clouds, wavers, dials, population, and especially religion

Skypeia is one of my favorites arcs, and its the best arc in the season thus far! Blackbeard is great, and Whitebeard is great, everything about the background and build up is set up beautifully. I cannot wait till you get to see this arc and all the incidentals that come with it!

I love how this show always adds character moments, like how whenever they go to a new place Robin's in the background gathering data. During the Davy Back games she was the only one who read the rules, and when they got here she reads Nolan's journal. I love how Sanji is always thinking of the girls, how the Straw Hats get back to the house and Nami's first instinct is to make sure the gold is ok lol, on top of them showing her just being in love with it in the background lol. Like there's always so many little moments included that tell you who these people are.

Don't know if it registered but the guy who tried to grab Luffy is Blackbeard, the same guy Ace is chasing and the same guy that Lafitte nominated to take Crocodile's place in the Warlord meeting. Felt like such a huge reveal to me at the time but it was sort of glossed over here. Either way, another great video.

Episode 151 is so damn amazing. It manages to introduce us to so many concepts and characters without feeling too packed. Seeing Doflamingo and Kuma of the Warlords, meeting the Gorosei (The Five Elders), meeting Sengoku, getting a peek into Blackbeard and his crew and the possible intentions they have, seeing that the Warlords are anything BUT lapdogs to the World Government. Marie Jois being shown. The introduction to the LEGENDARY Edward Newgate, AKA Whitebeard. And showing that Shanks has a larger role by implying that if he gets to meet with Whitebeard, a potential war can happen. PLUS Luffy's "fight" with Bellamy. I say "fight" since Luffy straight up one shotted Bellamy

Oda does the impossible and made a power level system that isn't bullshit. Wanted Posters being used by pirates as a measuring stick makes sense, but it's more than that. The amount offered isn't a measure of strength but how much of a threat you are to the world government. Which is why Robin got 79 million at 8 years old. Bellamy is such a jerk but he is right that some people might fake a poster for clout, but he should've been more suspicious about it.
