I only use floating jig heads for minnows or leaches. If I am going for a similar presentation with nightcrawlers I run a lindy rig. One of the best things about it is it keeps your hook off bottom so you don't snag as much. I run a lindy rig with nightcrawlers because you can get a whole night crawler on the three hooks.

@PigPatrolTV I usually don't use floating jigs. I use line floats. Back in the day, they were made from cork, and we called them "corkies." I still call them that. They're very effective with leaches for walleye fishing. A glow in the dark float for night fishing works very well. This is from my 60 years of experience fishing in N. Minnesota. I enjoy your videos and always look forward to them! Thanks!

Ummmmm sure, I can explain why floating jigheads are even a thing. Lmao. I grew up fishing in Central MN with cast and real technique or slip bobber and jig.....and THEN....dan dan daaaa...I moved to far northern MN and my husband taught me to " float a crawler". Crazy I thought.....but for some waters and some " speeeeci s "...Floating jig, ➕️ a wight about 12-18 " up from the jig to hold it to the bottom. OR if you don't have a floating jig head....a plain hook and a worm blower to float your crawler up from the weight works too. Seems to catch me some smallies, largies and trout without fail! But hey.....I say use what's workin....and those fishies decide that for sure.

So true. I can never understand people that treat "baitfish" differently from more "desirable" fish. A fish is a fish and either respect them or don't. Every fish kill should be fast and clean - no excuses.
