This is honestly one of my favorite DC films, especially since it's one of the rare cases where it IMPROVES the character's design. Removing the mouth was such a good move
@woodman39267 ай бұрын
Who actually thought giving BB a mouth was a good idea? Like it’s obvious the newer design is inspired by Tokutastu so why didn’t they go all the way when they came up with it? Some of the coolest looking superheroes have no visible mouths: Kamen Rider, Spider-Man, Spawn, Doctor Fate, Red Hood, Radiant Black, Power Rangers, etc.
@DanteYewToob7 ай бұрын
I disagree.. I think he looks too much like a standard iron man or something. The eyes and mouth made it clear that the suit was bonded with him like a symbiote and that made his stand apart. Especially for average viewers. The suit does look dope, it just looks a little too similar to everything else in my opinion. I wish they kept the more alien design, the blue marks around the eyes and the mouth. I think a good compromise was to only have the mouth appear when he speaks out loud to others. That would also add to the feeling that the suit is alive and adapts to whatever he needs at the time. Not talking, no mouth. But I fully get why people might not like it.. I just personally like the weirdness of comics and I’m not a fan of how similar a lot of comic movies look. To me, I want the characters to have what makes them unique! Big expressive eyes on Spidey, the white eyes and pointy ears on Batman, the expressive blank eyes and little loose material on Deadpool’s mask, and blue beetles mouth. Those are the details that set them apart for me.

Blunt force trauma is a good way of killing people in armour, I see Birdman went to the Gundam IBO school of combat.
@edoardoprevelato65777 ай бұрын
I think that most people with a modicum of interest in medieval fighting know that.

Isn't it just because the armor is rigid so the energy from bluntforce trauma isn't fully absorbed and is able to somewhat pass through to the person in the armor?
@edoardoprevelato65777 ай бұрын
@@shadowdagon7358 not quite. First, we must make a distinction between the two types of armor we mean to hit with a bludgeoning weapon: mail and plate (let's discard helmets, just by saying that headshots are always good). Mail: mail is almost entirely impervious to cutting and partly to piercing. However, since it isn't rigid, it cannot absorb blunt force trauma. Hence our goal isn't to make someone bleed and hit muscles/tendons, but to break bones (especially the ribcage). Plate: basically impossible to cut and pierce, everything bounces off or is redirected. Blunt force helps us in two ways here: either by making the knight fall over or denting the armor so much that it caves in and makes it difficult to breathe/move, or leaves room for direct damage.
@shadowdagon73587 ай бұрын
@edoardoprevelato6577 In the case of Mail, the reason blunt force works would be because the armor is either because the armor isn't rigid or thick enough to give stopping power against the thing causing the blunt force trauma. But because of the small gaps and strong structure, it's good for stopping or mitigating slashing and stabbing effects since most bladed weapons arent made for fitting into those gaps well enough to cause damage, which I believe is why its sometimes used as underarmor for armors that can deal with bluntforce better but maybe not cutting stabbing or slashing. I may be wrong about all of this and am saying it based on some very loose knowledge
@edoardoprevelato65777 ай бұрын
@@shadowdagon7358 you are right, and it's basically what i attempted to summarize. You mist think of a fully armored knight (cloth padding + chainmail + plate) as a living tank. Most of the time, you don't destroy a tank, you disable it. A knight is far easier to topple over or throw down his horse and then hold down to kill with a knife to the throat or by mobbing with blunt weapons, than anything else.

Funny thing about tipping/getting tips: apparently some businesses don’t allow tips because that’s a form of “bribery”. I would get tips (working in retail) but the goal was appreciation not coercion. I do agree that tipping is a perpetual thing that’s harmful because a) tippers don’t always tip (generously) and b) companies that DO allow tipping don’t know how many tips the workers get.
@billybob71357 ай бұрын
I work in a business like that, and when someone left me a tip and left right after, it became a controversy. My higher ups knew it was a nice gesture and that I wasn't bribed, but no one was sure what to do via official channels until they said "screw it" and let me keep the tip, but told me never to accept one again.

I almost want to make it my personal crusade to ensure this word is not canceled, because there is NOTHING inherently offensive about it whatsoever. “Differently-abled” literally means the exact same thing as crippled does, and I find it hilarious that people replace one innocuous word with some “safer” sounding term just for the sake of grandstanding. If anyone on Earth has the right to be offended by being called crippled it’s me, and I’m not. If someone IS, then it’s on them to ask others to call them a term that makes them feel better

Tipping is extra money for good service not no reason. People who deride tipping because the employer should pay us more are annoying because the bottom line is: they DON’T. So *in the meantime* tip your servers and delivery drivers. Just sitting on the internet saying employers should pay their more isn’t going to make them do it so just give the tip especially if their service was good because most likely your server was very overwhelmed.
@Th3Birdman7 ай бұрын
You seem to be speaking directly to me, a person that not only tips every single instance one can tip (Subway, sit down restaurants, ordering pizza, carrying out Thai food, etc.), but one that also gives the largest tip on the receipt every single time. You've missed the point of the conversation entirely; you are not owed extra money for doing your job. Do you pay Best Buy workers for helping you find an item? Do you tip your dentist after he works on a cavity? Do you slide the mailman a few extra bucks for delivering your packages? The obvious answer to these questions is "no, I don't", so why then do you think waiters SHOULD get a tip? The obvious answer to that question is "they don't pay us enough", which is the point I was making, and the crux of the issue. Let's be clear-- if waiters/service workers got fair pay, they wouldn't need to get tips. They get tipped because most people understand they are underpaid. Continuing to participate in tipping culture (something I am guilty of) contributes to this problem and it's why they continue to get away with underpaying you. You are clearly a short-term thinker. Instead of campaigning for fair wages and getting a better deal in the long term, you'd rather pass the burden onto increasingly angry customers that don't think tips should be mandatory in the short term. When you make people feel like something is mandatory, you build resentment, and that's what's currently going on in this country. Restaurants are seeing less and less patrons over time, with more than a few people stating tipping being one of the major reasons why. Speaking of this country, this country is one of the few with tipping culture, and the only one where this is a major problem. In Japan, for example, you don't tip at all. It's not a thing outside of Uber Eats and Uber taxi, and even then, the workers don't expect those tips or complain that they're owed them, and they deliver FAR better service than anyone here in America. So this is uniquely an American issue, and guess what America does the best in the world? Capitalism, otherwise known as "exploiting people for profit". Your issue lies with your handlers, not the customer. Remember who's putting that money in your pocket. Because it damn sure ain't your employer.
@DemonBlade2147 ай бұрын
@@Th3Birdman I don’t work in the restaurant industry anymore, I work in the nightclub/nightlife industry, so it’s a whole different beast. The last restaurant I worked for did pay us well. The tips were an added bonus, so there are employers out there that take care of their staff. I don’t disagree with anything you said it’s just that how would we go about campaigning for extra wages? Talking to our employers would probably get us fired.
@Th3Birdman7 ай бұрын
"I don’t disagree with anything you said it’s just that how would we go about campaigning for extra wages? Talking to our employers would probably get us fired" My assumption is that most people empathize with service workers, being one of the main industries as far as employment goes. Most of us have worked in customer facing jobs in our lives, so we understand how shit of a job it can be. That being the case, this can be fixed with legislation. If there was a bill introduced in your state that pays service workers a fair wage in relation to the cost of living, I would think most voters would support it, given my earlier assumption. So this means going beyond your employer and going to the state government. The quick and easy refutation to my suggestion is that if employers raised wages, they would have to raise prices of their service as well, in which case two things will be true: 1. With the current system of implied and included gratuities, we already pay a lot for food/service, so there wouldn't really be that much of a difference for the consumer anyway and 2. If a business cannot operate without shortchanging their employees (clears throat) THEY SHOULDN'T BE IN BUSINESS IN THE FIRST FUCKING PLACE. All jobs should allow for cost of living wages at minimum in whatever area they operate in and should be shut down if they cannot provide this level of compensation for their employees. Period.

Who is a natural born leader vs a guy in a gimp suit who has lots of money and tech and they choose gimp suit as the leader when he has absolutely no personal understanding of the real power of superheroes and has no actual experience in battle. Oh and she has an invisible plane which trumps anything Batman could possibly bring to the fight. I agree, he should stick to the vigilante detective against humans because that's why he is actually cool. He can barely take Bane and we're to believe that he could actually beat even the least of the superheroes? The weakest super powered villain would rip his head off and use it as a goblet. By rights, he shouldn't even be able to beat Ivy and only his plot armour saves him.
