The sign language thing is actually pretty well-founded, because we see in Rise that Maurice was a circus Orangutan who was taught how to sign. Caesar is genetically modified and is also taught over the span of a couple years how to sign. It makes sense that after the other apes get modified, their primary language would be sign, because that's the language both Maurice and Caesar could teach.

I have to say that I really, truly loved this movie. It was amazing. What I find particularly interesting is that the conflict between the humans and the other apes, largely mirrors an extremely huge historical conflict between two species: Humans and Neanderthals Neanderthals were wiped out by Humans primarily because when Neanderthals and Homosapiens found each other, Homosapiens largely outnumbered each other. It's true that many species maintain a harmony between each other, but neanderthals were far too similar to humans for conflict not to arise. Neanderthals basically did everything that humans did, perhaps very slightly less advanced, but they were so similar to humans they were able to mate with us. Humans outnumbered them, and we slowly destroyed them in a conflict for territory. This movie is almost like a reflection of that, but with the roles reversed: The Chimpanzees, Orangutans, and Gorillas slowly are becoming more advanced than Humans. In the film, humans are largely devastated in their population and intelligent apes have now largely outnumbered them. They're becoming more advanced, and their numbers were rising, and in a conflict for territory, they wipe out humans. What's really interesting is to note that humans themselves are apes too. If Neanderthals had had larger populations, they very well may have become the dominant species and created a society. Even today, people don't realize just how intelligent apes (Besides Humans) are. Chimpanzees show an extreme aggressiveness towards other species, which includes coordinated attacks, that resemble human aggressiveness. Gorillas on the other hand, are a very peaceful species which have a hierarchical society. Orangutans are the most intelligent of them, and display a capacity for extreme puzzle solving. Besides even that, they all show the capacity to learn sign language, and even understand spoken language from humans. Humans are so confident that we are the dominant species and always will be, but there are several other species which display an evolutionary capacity to form a complex culture in time. Some may say that we wouldn't allow it to happen, but at the rate that humans seem to be going, we may very well bring about our own extinction, leaving the ground for another species to hold the candle. The buildings and towns we leave behind would be but an ancient relic to them of a destroyed species. Afterall, we've found several sights of burial that even have structures similar to graves, and these graves belonged to Neanderthals. An ancient relic of a destroyed species...

@professornebula6545
@professornebula6545 8 жыл бұрын
Alexander Tarafdar I'm already aware of the fact that humans and neanderthals mated with each other, but there is no consensus that humans and neanderthals coexisted, at least not in the way you're implying. We fought with each other for territory because of our high similarity and therefore need for similar resources. The most likely scenario that was ultimately responsible for the fall of the neanderthals is that the males were killed in these disputes, and the females were taken and mated with. Eventually in a combination of both murder and mating, their species became integrated into our own and subsequently ceased to exist.

I believe this is the best movie of the new franchise, and probably one of the best in the whole series. The human protagonist is the most rational character I've seen. The conflict between peace and war ideas between humans and apes is very clear. A huge upgrade from the first movie.

I still can't get the fact that an ape, smaller than a human, with zero firearms experience, can fire a m60 or whatever machine gun he was holding with no kickback/recoil of any kind, while riding a horse. Buuuuuuuuulshit

Brendon Clark doesn't matter, they have less mass than humans, so it would be like a kid trying to fire a machine gun. Even if he/she could hold it up, they would fall over from the recoil

bryan goldbaum 1. Your spelling gave me cancer 2. Even if they are "super apes", it doesn't change the fact that they are probably lighter or around the same weight as humans, so if you know anything about physics, they be blasted off their feet or at least fall over from a single shot of a high calibre machine gun. Also, no firearms results in improper posture and thus falling over. ALSO, there is a reason ppl don't shoot machine guns on horseback. It is because you would slide off from the force of the machine gun unless you glue yourself to the horse, then the horse would be affected as well, resulting to it being unable to run forward Edit: 3. You're stupid

Sin 50: They weren't doing target practice they were testing all the guns to see if they still fed right. Sitting around not being fired for a long time can make a gun prone to being jammed. If a gun jams after firing a single clip you know it needs to be fixed. Edit: Actually if I remember right Gary Oldman's character literally states that's what their doing there. So it ins't just a matter of not understanding guys, it's a matter of simply not paying attention.

So I really cannot figure out how this goes anyway but horridly for the apes. A single AC-130 gunship could handle an army of apes who simply couldn't do anything to bring it down. A squad of Apache helicopters could decimate them as well. An A-10 and its 30mm gatling cannon can create a line of dead apes with each strafing run. The 150mm artillery cannons, the Mk-19 automatic grenade launcher, the 120mm cannon on the M1A3 Abrams, 30mm auto-cannon on the Bradley, the variety of weapons the Stryker can equip, LMG's like the M249 and M240B, and even the bog standard small arms easily overpower much larger forces of apes. A random bloke with a pump action shotgun should easily be able to handle a small batch of apes. Humans are REALLY good at killing things, better than anything else on this planet in fact. We are also by a large margin the most numerous of apes. There are many places we can live that other apes can't, and I do not believe any of the other large apes can swim. Much like a zombie apocalypse, an ape apocalypse can't happen. We simply have too much firepower for any other species to compete.
