Major props that this film, in spite of it being out of step with the last two for no reason of it's own, it does such a good job of using the commercial machine Halloween had become at that point (and still is) to engineer this grand tribute to the bloodsoaked days they believed the old celebrations of Samhain discreetly under the guise of a promotional celebration for kids. That is entirely why it has a better standing in my book than most of the sequels/remakes afterwards.

Ah, the black sheep of the franchise. This movie was responsible for deviating Halloween from an anthology back to a continuity mess. Having grown up with the franchise, I actually like 3 quite a bit. The trick is to not treat it as a Halloween film. This movie was just okay, I'm glad to have seen it a time or two, but at the same time I'd prefer to think of it as not being part of the _Halloween_ series at all. There's still debate with fans and cinephiles alike ~ at what point **exactly** did Ellie become the robot?
