This video has been really helpful thank you! I know what you mean about the Stomp V3 car seat, it’s so fiddly and heavy! However once it’s on the frame I love it.... the wheels are great for the countryside 😊

Thanks for this, so useful!! Side note, many carriers are not 100% suitable for newborns, it needs to keep them supported in specific ways (hips and back). There are several articles on this if anyone wants to research but slings are usually safer.

Funny how a lot of the 'essential' stuff you mention in this video is now on your list of 'stuff you regret buying' in one of your recent videos! Glad I watched both videos.

Thank you, 31weeks and all i have are less than 10 outfits my children got me. So needed a list of essentials that make sense and not waste money. perfect

Side note, if you’re planning on breastfeeding don’t buy the prep machine, just buy a tub of formula for if things don’t work out you’ve got it there and then you can always buy the prep machine later if you need it! Same with bottles just buy 2 bottles so they’re ready to go but don’t spend loads of money on a big starter pack! I stupidly bought £60 worth of bottles and haven’t used any 🤦🏼♀️😂
@courtney22ish3 жыл бұрын
Would bottles be useful if partner is feeding through the day/night? I’m planning on prepping milk for bottles when I’m unavailable. Don’t want to waste money though!
@meganwarrick36733 жыл бұрын
Courtney Jane you can just buy 2/3 bottles and that should get you through the night but if you’re planning to breastfeed for a while your milk supply is best established over night so you’d need to pump when baby is having a bottle, also you’d wake up feeling very full and could cause mastitis if you skip too many feeds. It’s super confusing 😅 but basically your body makes what it thinks baby needs so if baby is having a feed with expressed milk and skipping a feed then your body will lower it’s supply and won’t make enough for what baby needs, the first 6 weeks will be difficult as night times will be hard but it gets easier, we’ve been breastfeeding for 16 months now and it’s super simple to not have to worry about packing milk and bottles That being said if you ever feel like it’s too much for you and you need to supplement then definitely do and if you end up having to move onto formula before you had planned it doesn’t matter either you did as much as you could and that’s all that matters ☺️

I can second almost everything she recommends! So so so good. Free rider is the best! Milton cold water steriliser, essential and a fiver. Completely agree with everything she says. If you go for pampers, use the new baby yellow ones (a new design that didn't give nappy rash and fitted much better). The old school green ones leak everywhere and are so pricey!! Excited to try Aldi though as EVERYONE says they're better and cheaper! 🌈

So, so helpful! Love that you have recommended alternatives that are cheaper e.g. the water wipes we have been using and love but are super pricey. Our baby is 6 weeks now. Also, we bought the prep machine and my partner was so excited, but I put it away in a cupboard because health visitors put me off and made out that they aren't safe. I'm 6 weeks into exclusively breastfeeding, which baby loves but I am really struggling with it - the relentlessness and sore engorged-ness and tiredness and using nipple guards to help latch/pain. I have him on the breast on demand around the clock so you've convinced me to the prepper anyway! They seem super popular. I have loads of the things you've got! ❤️🌈 As a bottle feeding mum (I bottle feed expressed milk currently using tippee bottles but I have the Mam set too for when he starts having more milk), did you ever use Infacol for wind? My baby is getting quite windy but I have t tried yet. I got the black and white cards from Amazon! When did George start being interested in the sensory bits? Sorry, so many questions! Lockdown mum life is tricky as I can't see anyone like I'd planned on mat leave. Thanks so much for your vid! So glad I found you.
