Besides of all the premium systems, I'd like to know more about the capabilities of the Renault Clio V.

Hi, you can find out more about the Clio, including datasheets on the car here: news.thatcham.org/pressreleases/worlds-first-assisted-driving-grading-unveiled-3039227

Still don’t understand “why” the Mercedes has such a high score???? Very vague

The results seem of low quality checks. The VW PAssat has a total of 216 point and the Tesla Model 3 222. Model 3 should therefore be ranked higher, 5th place.

What a load of bs. The steering resistance is not high and shows the driver that the car knows what it’s doing. Taking over is not a problem and as you can see on the screen even actively encouraged by the car

Insane that they release this crap test. So transparent.

I think it's because of the difference in how NCAP wants these systems to perform vs how Tesla intends the system to be. In the long run... Tesla intends Autopilot to be a self-driving system, not a driver assistance feature, this means they used steering torque as generally you wouldn't want to take over from what the system is doing unless it was an emergency. (Obviously this torque is really easy to take over from, most do it by accident when first using the system, many times!) NCAP is expecting the systems to be 'assistance' to the driver, so the driver is still turning the wheel, but the car is nudging the wheel to keep you going the right direction. I understand the issue they're bringing up, if the system is a driver-assist system and not 'self-driving', then the driver should still be steering the vehicle and not just resting their hands on the wheel as many Tesla drivers will do, myself included. Not having that driver engagement is partly why people sleep at the wheel of Tesla's vehicles assuming it'll drive itself, it feels like it's self-driving even when it's still in its early days with lots of progress to be made in the coming year or two. A little tutorial explaining how to use the system would be great to avoid the confusion! :)

What a dumb test. They made up a metric to downgrade Tesla, which is the most advanced. I've been driving Teslas for years MS, M3 and you can tap the brake to disengage AP or just apply pressure. These guys must be sponsored by European car makes.

Shamless, this is fully payrolled by the 3 big Germans car legacy manufactures. Tesla is light years ahead of them all in every aspect and it’s ranked 8th?

Downgrading tesla for properly using the word autopilot is idiotic.

“Tesla’s system name autopilot is inappropriate as it suggests full automation” are you kidding me? You’re downgrading the most advanced system on the planet because of the name not the technology!?
