I’ve been tracking my cycles for over four years now. Birth control hurts my mind and body. I personally didn’t find it worth the mood swings and I like to know that my thoughts and emotions are actually My thoughts and emotions, and aren’t being effected by birth control. I also went on the paleo diet and did an intensive supplement protocol and within three months my periods stopped being heavy or painful and went back to its natural state! I agree that periods aren’t meant to actually be painful, I believe the biggest factor is stress, not only physical but also spiritual and emotional stress. Tracking and healing my cycle has been a profound and powerful practice. I feel more in tune with my maternal lineage and women in general. I feel more empowered with myself. I just wanted to share that it is indeed very possible to take our health back into our hands. So grateful this information is finally being shared! Love you women 🍁🍂🧡🍂🍁

This comment gives me hope. I just cried in pain, it's the first day of bleeding. I didn't really plan my diet and had some stress this month, and now my period is so painful and I felt so sad and anxious, almost hopeless. I need to figure this out, and balance my hormones. It's so important.

This was super amazing and informative! It’s crazy how much we know our bodies intuitively as women but have allowed society and ourselves to suppress our true nature. I’m so glad we’re having these discussions so our young queens are more aware of how to handle the changes that come with being a woman.

Interesting conversation, thanks Emily! As a medical student, I have to say that I have read hundreds of studies and have never seen women left out, though. I also would love to know Alisa's sources to see if what she says is backed up.

@Sara A that is correct! Many drugs are not tested on children so we can't use a lot...or we do it anyway but without scientifical proof that it is the best use.
@hannahmacleod35864 жыл бұрын
I'm not a doctor but I've read many articles that state reproductive age women are often not included in drug trials and research because their changes in hormones are seen to introduce too many variables. Are you saying that is not the case? Here is one article that I've read: www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2019/nov/13/the-female-problem-male-bias-in-medical-trials
@Alzenaish4 жыл бұрын
And maybe what she meant being left out, that even research would use general standard of men even when it comes to measures women activities, like in diet or exercise.

So beyond helpful and comforting knowing that the rebound hell time coming off of the pill impacting the brain, attraction, smells noticeably different, androgen rebound etc is all normal. So CRAZY We don’t get education on this as teens before going on it

As I lay down crying from menstrual pain, I am so grateful for this. I'm so glad that now I can take better care of myself with this information that I didn't have before. What a blessing. I've been suffering from heavy periods and pain since I was 11 years old, and now I'm 22 and not sexually active, out of birth control and out of NSAids, but I KNEW there had to be a way to take care of my hormones that I didn't find anywhere, for real, it's such a big amount of BS you find on blogs out there, completely useless and lacking practical straightforward REAL information. This here is the stuff we need. We bleed, we have a bunch of needs, if loser weak men think we are high maintenance that's their problem. Real men should be understanding and compassionate. We generate life, our body is completely different, dammit. It's time for society to accept this FACT.

Hi Emily, thank you for putting so much effort in all of your videos! I really enjoy all of them, this one was very interesting as well. I've heard about a lot of negative bcp experiences - I'm sorry to hear it made you feel that way! And i just wanted to add, that the bcp has been a life saviour for me. It helped me to clear my acne when I was going through puberty, stabilized my moodswings and helped me keeping my iron levels up by not bleeding every month. It's great that you have opened the conversation so everyone can find their own hormonal balance, and what works the best for you!

Great informative video. So the only option for bc is condoms is what you are saying? I am off of bc right now and I use to take Progestrin only pills(mini pill) because I get migranes with aura and I noticed some weight gain and a ton of acne. I am about to start this pill again because I am in a relationship. I love the way I feel and look without any bc but I worry about prenancy more. I am afraid my boyfriend will be so disappointed if I decided to just use condoms as I know how excited he was when I told him I was gettin on birth control again. I can't use the non hormonal iud as I expelled it out twice so here I am cryin because I have no choices. I want to enjoy sex and I want my boyfriend to enjoy sex too. I don't know what to do or what I want. I am scared of hormonal bc ruining my body and of course gainin weight as I once was a model and I had anorexia.
