Two questions - what are good experiences to get in a "gap year" between undergrad and applying to Master's or PhD programs? Would it be better to find a job in research if you have a fair amount of undergrad research experience, or would experience in HR/consulting environments be similarly helpful? My major is biology pre-med and I was wondering how much weight do shadowing, internships, and research account for during the application process of going to graduate school for psychology? Thats what most people do. A bachlor in psychology and a master and PhD in i/o You can also go to mba as far as i know. Not the most practical way but still works, i guess

That may depend on the choice of University you attend; regarding, their requirements.

BS focus more on the application of the science. If you wish to work in the corporate I-O Psych field you'll definitely want to consider a BS. BA are more relevant if you wish to pursue Research or if your end goal is to work in academia.
