Jesus, hear my prayers because I am weak. As a single parent things are hard on me both of my sons are autistic and my hours to work are limited because I’m now homeschooling them. I’m constantly struggling to provide the basic necessities for them I’m so ashamed. I suffered an heart attack and I’m battling lupus I’m overwhelmed. Father God hear my prayers. I constantly struggle to pay my bills and struggle to provide groceries. BUT I KEEP FAITH. Even though I want to give up. Jesus please take the fear from my heart. Father God it is you that gives me the strength to keep going. I praise you Father even as I fear homelessness please continue to give me strength.

Sister, your local church is there for this reason. Your local church, that you are a part of, will help you to have the basic necessities and to pay your bills and to pray over you and help you and provide relief. Let them know🙂

@@tracyharris3972 yes, don't be ashamed to reach out to the church! When I was young my family came up on hard times and my dad had to have surgery. My mom was a stay at home mother. The church helped us in many ways to get through, and later we were able to generously help others. 💕

John Piper is surely right that a huge reason why people don't believe in Jesus is because of willful unbelief. But it must also be part of God's plan not to make things so obvious that people don't still need to seek him and come in faith. For example, God could have placed stars in the sky in such a formation that they spell the words 'Jesus Christ is Lord' in any language, or even many languages. But he didn't do this or anything like it. I would suggest that part of the reason why there aren't more ancient artifacts or documents that support the Christian faith is because it was God's purpose to limit the evidence. Limiting the evidence means that his system of faith, where people believe without seeing (John 20:29), can be put into operation.

Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him, so that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “Lord, who has believed what he heard from us, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” Therefore they could not believe. that wasn't the crux of her question. The listener wasn't asking why there aren't more manuscripts of the historical sources we have (MMLJ & Nt letters). She was asking why there isn't a bigger number of diverse historical sources. (Things beyond MMLJ & NT letters) I know how I'd answer this. I'd be curious to hear John Piper answer the intended question.

John Piper is right about the claims of Muslims regarding the Christian faith. They often claim to believe things that are not only without any evidence whatsoever but actually sharply contradict what evidence there is. For example, the Muslim claim that Judas Iscariot switched places with Jesus shortly before the crucifixion is one that historians of Jesus, Christian and secular, would immediately reject. This claim goes against a great big mountain of evidence to the contrary.

Sorry Piper, but everything you said about why people should believe in Christianity could be said by the followers of any other faith, especially pagans and new agers. Unbelievers will simply mock and laugh at your reasoning and logic. Christians, who claim they have THE truth about GOD (what can be more important?) must do better at showing PROOF for their faith if they want to be taken seriously!!

There is a lot of evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. 1 Cor 15:3-8 provides a very strong piece of evidence for this. In this passage Paul mentions many people, including himself, who claimed to have seen Jesus after he rose from the dead. Firstly, it isn't plausible to think that they were all lying, given the amount that the early Christians suffered for their faith. People wouldn't suffer for something they have just made up. They would just admit they were lying or quietly abandon the faith. Secondly, it won't work to say that Jesus didn't really die on the cross and that he later revived. It is extremely improbable that the Romans would have mistakenly thought he had died when he hadn't. And, in any case, given the sincerity of belief among early Christians for Jesus' resurrection, we would then need to assume that in his badly injured state he managed to fool them all. This makes absolutely no sense. Thirdly, it is not at all reasonable to think that all the early Christians were making honest mistakes and were actually hallucinating. 1 Cor 15:3-8 mentions 6 appearances of the risen Jesus, 3 to individuals and 3 to groups. It is impossibly implausible to think that all these people thought they were seeing Jesus but were just hallucinating. So this passage is very strong evidence for Jesus' resurrection.

Paul's claim about 500 witnesses does not include a single name, time, or location, and is not corroborated anywhere else. Here. Try this: "500 witnesses saw your mother kill a homeless guy." It is not only plausible that many of them were lying, we know for a fact that they were lying. The rest need merely have been gullible. @@HearGodsWord When Christians claims there is evidence, am I wrong to expect evidence? When this is supposedly god's most important message to mankind, am I wrong to expect evidence? Am I wrong to expect something written by Jesus? Am I wrong to expect something written by one of his disciples? Am I wrong to expect some mention of Jesus and his miracles in contemporary Roman or Jewish accounts? "My dearest darling, I met the strangest man in Jerusalem today......" We have nothing. Look, if you have nothing, then admit you have nothing and move on.

@@HearGodsWord The written accounts in the Bible are 3rd hand anonymous urban myths written decades after the events. There are no contemporary extra-biblical accounts. Not one. Only later accounts that describe what Christians believed at the time.
