I will always be disgusted by how this case was handled. Lyle's prosecutor, Pam Bozanich, argued that "men could not be raped, because they lack the necessary equipment to be raped”. Yep, that’s an actual quote this idiot presented to the jury 😒😒😒 Parents are suppose to protect their children at all costs, kitty and Jose just cared about image and didn’t care about their kids at all. The ACTUAL trial depicts an accurate account of the events. Unlike Ryan Murphy’s and Netflix’s shitty attempt at a biopic. It was self defense, and i will ALWAYS stand by that. If they didn’t kill their parents, Jose would have 100 percent had both of them killed and made it look like an accident because that’s just how powerful, rich and narcissistic he was.

Actually the father represented a group of singers called “Menudo” in the 80s, not sure exactly what role he had. The thing is one of the singers of the band was a young boy probably 15-16 and he was told to meet with “the father” and he was offered a drink and the guy pass out. When he woke up he realize that he was “rape” he was bleeding and it hurt it. But he kept quiet, in that same decade 80s he heard what the children had done and felt horrible because he could had spoken up. Perhaps if he would had spoken about that the father would had gone to jail and the Mendendez would had not commit the act. The singer of that band wrote that in his memoir and die with the guilt. So definitely the father was involved in something in the music industry towards younger boys.

It’s such a thing that you try and move on about but it’s always there. One of my nieces my half sister’s daughter got pregnant by her dad. My half sister knew it was going on. My mom went to her and said your daughter is being abused by her dad. My half sister’s response was sick. She said that men need love. And not long after they moved out of state. I still can’t believe what she said about her daughter and the sick freak she was married to. My niece had the baby and my half sister and her freak raised the kid as their own. Until much later when the truth came out. The boy indid up in prison and I believe it’s all from his messed up life. Being abused as a child is a serious thing and will make you do things you never thought you would. I became an alcoholic for a long time. Then to drugs. In light of the info coming out in the Diddy situation I hope people get to understand the fear and control these people use with their victims. Imagine if Diddy's sons wanted to get away from that lifestyle what it would take to do so. Telling that Jose Mendez was also involved in music industry. I dont think it was possible to just pack up and go as so many people seem to think.

Such an excellent point, things like this should not be overlooked as frequently as they are

At this point is even cruel for the brothers to still be in prison. They spent their childhoods being abused by their parents, were abused a second time by a judge who didn't allow key evidence of abuse, and to this day continue to be abused because they have been behind bars when they should've been spending that time rebuilding their lives. IT IS UNJUST!!! May God bring them Justice now!

They need to be released from prison. They were abused! This punishment should be served by the parents.

So sad how so many witnesses to SA but no one took action to protect these babies. If family and friends took action then Lyle and Eric would never have to serve life sentences or turn to murder 🥲

If Jose Menendez has power and respect from higher ups dead because obviously y judge ruled out testimonies on second trial , imagine alive they were probably scared

The fact that there was all these evidence present and yet they were not given a fair trial is appalling

Absolutely heartbreaking. I believe that the Menendez brothers in their traumatized condition barely could have taken another route to survive all that abuse. They obviously didn’t want to die or else they maybe would have killed themselves or become drug addicts or maybe murderes or perpetrators themselves. Thank God they had some people around them who loved them and listened to them. Sorry to say those who listened and loved them where about the same age as they where and all they could do was just be there for them and inform the mother. The brothers talked about what was happening even though their father threatened them with their lives if they ever spoke out about it,they actually did try to somehow get help. When their mother was informed of what was going on she did not choose to help and protect her sons! Trauma changes the brain! The brothers took it upon themselves to stop the the injustice, the pain, the abuse. The trauma they carried, their brains and emotions and thinking had them believe eliminating the danger in their lives, who where the two closest people in their intimate space, the ones they depended on for everything in their childhood, the two caregivers who where supposed to nurture their tender souls as children, support them, encourage and uplift them, shield them from danger and make them successful, mentally healthy in life where the very ones who where the most threatening, the most dangerous to them and they killed them. Can you even imagine this kind of abuse that drives a child or young adult to do such a thing? Most of us can’t even fathom…It must have been very painful for them to do but the abuse was worse… CAN YOU IMAGINE?! An incredible and intense injustice from the courtrooms and media. Netflix should have not portrayed them in the way they did seeing how much we know about abuse, trauma and how the brain works. THE PARENTS WHERE THE MONSTERS!!! HELLO?!Incredible injustice! The Mendez brothers served enough time for what they did. They need to be rehabilitated and in my opinion I think they very well could be. I don‘t know them personally but I feel they are not hopeless and that there is hope in and for them. After all, in jail they found meaning in helping others who have been abused. They deserve chance, a safe environment and good counselling and therapy. I feel they need a chance. I am tempted to write that the need another chance but they never had a chance from the get go. Greetings from Switzerland.

You are totally right about this. And I completely agree with you These boys were horribly mistreated by parents, ignored by family and friends, doctors and teachers. I was 19 in 1989. Living on East coast of USA, they were on the West coast. All we heard was they murdered their parents. There was no Internet, no """ information highway""" Only magazine and newspaper articles, and they weren't telling the truth. These poor men deserve immediate freedom!!!

I hope this case emphasises the need for change in the legal system. Imagine how many people who couldn't afford lawyers, or decent representation/assistance are in prison now?

I keep thinking of all the victims, including myself, watching this horrific shit. How easy it could have been for any of us to be in their seat.. I’m lost for words sitting in tears and goosebumps wondering how the courts failed them so bad, how they have been mocked in public, just unbelievable.
