The digital modeling has gotten so good that many artists will use a digital platform on tour and even in the studio.

But a few open laptops sitting behind a band surely can’t replace the epic spectacle of stacks and multiple amps spitting fire can they???
@dan84022 жыл бұрын
@@rp5444 True.. Although most of the guys I know who gig small clubs and such have everything running through something similar to an FX2, Kemper etc, and go straight into the local PA, or their own amps but processing is all done digitally. The days of huge pedal boards are coming to an end in practical terms anyways.

I currently play a PRS Custom 22 into a Laney Ironheart 120 with various pedals and a 4x12 cabinet. Love this “real” combo but I also have the Bias FX2 software and have to say, it’s very impressive and hard to beat when not attempting to annoy the neighbors with the full blown rig. The combinations with the Bias FX2 system is virtually endless as well. And….it all fits in a phone, iPad or laptop!

I use bias fx2 in my live set up. Bringing a lab top instead of an orange th100 head and 4x12 orange cab is lighter lol. Also I just purchased a kemper profiler!! Between the two the tones are killer.

I almost forgot I purchased this software a few years ago, but gave up because of the latency of my sound card of the time. Now that I have a better one from Universal Audio I should definitely give it another spin.

Got Bias FX2 Bias Amp and Bias Pedal, a 10W Blackstar Modelling Amp and soon to have an Orange Crush 35RT...Usually play Bias through my studio monitors...I kinda have my own tone with the amps and pedals, Bias lets me play around with options I don't have and the tones are great. I dont have a tube amp so I cant answer your last question.

Have you tried hooking up an attenuator for you Mesa Boogie to lower the decibals? When shredding, sometimes I need to string a couple noise gates together in BIAS FX 2, the "mute" option always has a bit of crackling that I need to clean up with some "reduction". Ableton has some great options for limiting/gates as well! 🤘

Diezel VH4 here.....with a Diezel cab. Playing a Caparison or Gibson custom into her. She'll hum along fine at "bedroom" volume, but S gets real once you start turning knobs. I'll most likely try the aforementioned software in the near future....looks interesting and sounds good as well! Thx Mr. Shred! How do you record drums and guitar?
@goldenultra2 жыл бұрын
You need a DAW, like catwalk or reaper, both free. Then you load the positive grid through the DAW, then click monitor sound on the track. Add a second track, for the drum track. It is very easy.

I’m all for the digital stuff. However, I’m not comfortable with in ears so playing live it has to be pedals, amps and cabs. At home I use a line 6 pod. I run my guitar into my vast array of toys into the amp modeling section and it sounds pretty damn good. Go Fucking Bengals!
@jasonjuneau29482 жыл бұрын
Im old school. I prefer analog to digital. I like to have something in physical space...like buying CD's opposed to downloading music. But I can see how digital has its advantages. Probably a lot cheaper than going out and buying a 3000$ Mesa then all the extra pedals you'd want.
