I know what you mean about those race style single plate 6 and 3 puck style clutches, I drove on mine for like 1 year before getting a full faced stage 2 organic style setup. My car a 2010 WRX that was making 325ft-lb of torque at the wheels would stall nearly all the time if you came from a stop below 3k rpm. And that pressure plate.. My god.. It was so heavy that it did a number on my clutch fork, bent it because subaru uses stamped steel for their WRX 5-speed clutch forks. Which caused me to burn up the organic full face. Was a very expensive lesson for me, I got it replaced with with yet another clutch and a Verus Engineering forged clutch fork. I hear this is the same issue with FRS/BRZ/85 cars where the push type clutch fork is a stamped steel piece and any real upgraded clutch wears them out and either bends them or they have a hole punched through where it pivots on the ball joint.

Nice video! As a dude who went through 5k worth in clutches in 2 years on my Evo X (please don't ask) good to see the process and the next potential clutch.... hopefully years down the line. Also on a ACT with the stronger pressure plate with a new oem flywheel

you have photos on how you had the car set up to pull the motor out or did you take the front end off?

We unbolted the subframe and lifted the car on a lift to remove the engine. After the transfer case and trans were disconnected of course.

How’s the clutch holding up and handle? I’m about to install this same set up in my Evo x this weekend. Did you break it in?

The clutch has been able to hold all the power we have in the Evo right now and what we plan for it in the future. It's way better than my previous ACT clutch which was slipping. Important thing to do is getting a monoblock TOB and clutch fork stopper. You break this one in like any other clutch, and this one feels closer to stock feel than that of a 6-puck, so very nice.

I'm actually looking for a clutch now that I'm boosted ! You recommend it for the FRS?

Is exedy twin disc good for daily driving?

Using an impact instead of a torque wrench…😳

That’s what I was thinking. The rest I was following well and seemed great

I truly hope you used break cleaner because I saw finger marks all over that thing. Also, for proper balance disc 1 contact pad should be facing up. 2nd contract pad on disc 2 should be positioned like a Y . This distribute the balance evenly. Smh back yard tuning at it best.
