The Senna Curve actually goes even further back: 1991's Formula One Grand Prix for DOS PCs and the Amiga featured the curve on the Interlagos Circuit before Senna's death and the landscape there was just green pastures as far as the eye can see (barring a few trees on the horizon).

there's something amazing about the PS1-PS2 generation: some PS1 games did the Senna curve better than some PS2 games despite the huge graphic evolution leap PS2 had. The track looks like something else but not Interlagos.

@@harmsy1296 I wouldn't say that it's casual. It's also used by very competitive gamers. For example when Forza Motorsport had esports tournaments all the top players used chase cam. I guess it might be related to the input device. If you use a steering wheel, then chase cam is quite unintuitive. But if you play with gamepad, then it's very intuitive. Maybe most competitive F1 players use a wheel. And like you said sim racers will also not use chase cam of course, as they are looking for a realistic experience. I am not a sim racer though and I also don't play with wheel. For me chase cam feels just as normal and intuitive in F1 games as in other racing games. And why wouldn't it? I don't see what would make F1 games any different from other racing games in that regard.
